Re: C1 conversion bulkhead questions

Thanks you guys. I like your suggestions: "foot nubs" and squeezing. Also, it makes sense that carving the bulkhead for a lower saddle height would help hold you in. I have a friend who uses plastic pegs which he says (and hopes) break if he pushes real hard on them ...

Re: Putting a new handle on a fiberglass Werner paddle

... Michael Caine (Charlie) is covered in dames the whole time. Just dripping with aw shucks sex appeal. Terrible haircut, middling physique, mediocre sense of humor (humour), but maybe the girls know that he's going to be the future Michael "Tangerine" Caine. The car chase scenes are bonkers. They're ...

... over. Haven't yet looked at where or how. Not sure why the original comes with such a huge saddle/bulkhead and a single transfer tube. Didn't make sense to me. If there was a good reason for it, manufacturer's should include a little info on the reasons they have for the decisions they made. P.

Re: I need to demo some Millbrook boats.

Not at your age yet but understand the interest. I'm going to be looking hard at the Blink (Stink eye) since it matches what I paddle and I have paddled a couple and like its design and how it matches my paddling style .... so the 20/20 makes a lot of sense in my mind as to your search!

... of natural flow rivers were up in the area so that contributed to the low turn out. In brief conversations with other boaters in the NE I get a sense that there has been a noticeable drop off in numbers. Among the people I canoe with that seems less true. Like to here more about the Storm Giant.

Re: Condor vs Rebel

... waterline Rebel is lighter. Not just on what the manufacturers have weighted out and published, but noticeably upon picking them up. And it makes sense, for two main reasons. 1) SB does their own molding... These guys have been molding PE boats for over 10 years now. They have some of the best ...

Re: Covert vs Rebel Handling?

Thanks for the reply. Makes sense. If I was still in a place that was a little more gravity-assisted (BC), and paddling more often, the Agent 88 would be of interest, but back in the pool-and-drop prairies, a longer boat probably makes ...

Re: Covert vs Rebel Handling?

... thus giving it more usability. Believe it or not, but the Rebel weighs very close to what the Covert 9.3 weighs. Doesn't really make much sense for a boat that is 2ft longer and made of the same material... to shed some light on that - it's because 1) the Rebel is narrower than the 9.3 ...

I just had a sense that he really wasn't going to be an active OCer. I have NO contact info. Don't even remember his first name... He may have some ties to the League ...

Sold.......Esquif Raven For Sale $900

... last year and haven't had as much of a chance to get in a canoe as I would like. As the rafting season is winding down, it unfortunately makes sense to try to pass this boat on to someone who will get more use out of it! Hull is in great shape, comes with Bell air bags and a Tsunami Pump to ...

Re: "best" tripping boats?

Makes sense about it being the vinyl gunwale version. All the ones I have seen are the aluminum gunwale version and perhaps those were all marketed as Starburst and the vinyl gunwale as Cumberland.

Re: C1 to OC1 or not

... I can say that kboating is not an option, my back would not take it, C1 is therapy. I will stick with the C1's as it just doesn't make sense to make a huge investment in glass open boats, because no one boat is going to be satisfactory on every river I paddle. What prompted this rant ...

Rebuilding paddle blade

... for stability, but I also don't want a barge. I'm 5' 9" ~170lbs. Any thoughts on whether a Shacho, Blink or something else would makes the most sense. I've paddled (briefly) the Shacho a couple of times, but I haven't been in the Blink. I have a Millbrook Flashback, so I'm looking for something ...
