Re: Comparing new OC-1 solos for 200+lbs

I paddled the Excite prototype briefly. It's fast, quick to turn. Not a creek boat. It's a boat that will spice up your usual river runs. It's bigger than the Extasy, but still not a big boat.

C1 River runner/playboat recommendations?

I'm looking for something to spice up the familiar runs with and for low water summer paddling. So, a playful design but with some length so it won't be terrible paddling downriver Also, I am looking for something for fairly cheap and readily available, so probably not the Sith or other composite boats ...

Re: Liquid Logic and Pyranha conversion questions...

... about conversions and warranties. I buy used but not abused kayak hulls to convert so not a warranty issue for me. I didn't reinforce the rail ... absolutely no oilcanning in this hull. I put a Gyramax saddle in a Fluid Spice L (great C-1 btw) and reinforced the entire floor of the hull with 1/16 ...

NC Vacation - wanna paddle?

I'm headed to the Bryson City area for vacation next week and would like to meet up with some fellow c-boaters for a run or two. I'll have the whole family, so some of my days will be spent on the Tuck and Nanty- but I'd like to spend a day or two hitting something with a little more spice like the ...

Slip Clinic 2013 Pictures

Another paddling clinic has come and gone on the Slippery Rock Creek in PA and it was enjoyed by all. This year we had 32 open boaters registered ... catch up from the long winter. Then following a long evening of beer, spice rum and Lime-a-Ritas, we proceeded with instruction and general mayhem ...

Re: 6'6" 250lbs for a taureau?

Guys I thank ya for all the honest opinions but I'm not crossing over to the dark side just yet. First off I'm a butt boater and i get stuck doing easy class 2-3 trips with newbs and that's not a bad thing but like I said I want to spice up my upper new trips. The taureau is $400 with a nice paddle from ...

+1 on contact lenses. I've had situations where I've lost one but not the other, and boy does THAT spice things up a bit!

Re: C1 conversion suggestions

I will always have a WS Z, but I really like my Karnali L and a Fluid Spice L I did this summer. The Spice is 27" wide and very stable. My winter project is a Fluid Solo.

If my aged knees could still tolerate c-1, I'd still be paddling c-1.

I've never paddled a conversion. I'm sure some are good, but suspect some are no better than my old Sage. ("Sage" is a spice good for stuffing a turkey.)

Some people's knees and ankles never adjust to c-1. I was lucky---- in spite ...

Two more cents' worth (CAD -- it's been above par lately!):

In every sport, there will be prima donnas. They may be obnoxious at times, but they add spice. Their accomplishments at the pinnacle are entertaining, and worth celebrating.

They may be annoyingly high-maintenance, (but probably worth the ...

The spice is a massively under-appreciated boat... I expect it would make a very good c1, a bit like a less slicy version of an early 2000's playboat.
