Don't see the value add. If they are having issues paddling it its too big for them. In a few years you'll wish you would have left it as is if they grow to like paddling canoes! My $.01!

Why cut off the deck, are you looking for a weight saving?
Is it not already an OC1?

I'm looking to cut the deck off an old Esquif Taureau to make it a kid friendly OC1. Has anyone tried this? Any suggestions?

I have an Esquif Taureau for sale. Only minor nicks, and no serious damage anywhere. The saddle has not been carved away at all. I have a skirt and paddle that could be yours as well if you wanted them!

This is one of the early bombproof plastic ones with bolted seam.
-Minicell bulkhead and sidewall foam.
