They haven't come back from that trip yet. Think about it. Even if all you had to do was pop the skirt and you had no thigh straps what so ever. If you have to slide back to clear the deck you are not going to be able to get out. You cannot slide if you are pinned to the back deck.

I just checked my calendar and saw that May 12th and 13th are a Monday and Tuesday. It woudl be difficult for me to attend on those dates this year. Either the weekend of the 10th and 11th or the 17th and 18th would be workable for me.

till next

The Weldwood stuff in the Red Can may work. I used the recommended stuff to patch my skirt, but the Weldwood has held the paddling I lined my C-1 pretty firmly.

I will come. I have a standing date to come to the MD panhandle and paddle anything in a 50 mile radius. The Dry Fork of the Cheat is one of my favorite runs. The Casselman, is another, but this year I may be interested in doing the Upper N. Branch above Lost Land. Its intense but its drop and pool,...

I'd like to see Joey's setup. Could you post a few screen shots that Sir Adam could add to the outfitting page?

I agree the boxer is a nice boat, I tried a friends conversion and it is too tight for me ( I'm 6'4 ) . The Cockpit rim jogs inward just where my thighs are. The chopper may not have that limitation since its cockpit rim is one piece. They also (Prijon) make the Rocket which is a little less volume,...

I think the Atom would make a good creek boat even if it is pointy. It manuevers quickly and is easy to roll. And it is one of the most comfortable C-1's I have paddled.

I think a lap belt would be preferable if you are going to use the existing anchor points which are usually high on the thigh. You have one less buckle to deal with. I prefer thigh straps at mid thigh because I can get more leverage against the strap, even with my knees cupped in foam top and bottom...

RE: Maven

Just add some wings if it is too narrow. You might want to screw them on so you can move them fore and aft till the best location is found. I am contemplating digitizing the Viper profile with my cadd sortware. I don't know what it would achieve, but I should get volume info that will be updateable ...

I have a friend who converted the Boxer to a C-1 and he is very happy with it. I think he has run the Upper Big Sandy in it and maybe the Little Sandy. It is 10" longer than the Rocket. I still don't know if it would be big enough for you. It has a little bit more volume than the Atom which is what ...
