I picked up their entry level whitwater $125 ish , this paddle was a left over from last year and I have been told they made some inprovements without raising the price. its wood with a carbon laminate over the plade face. When you start testing this boat (asuming you havent yet) could you put a couple of diffrent body sizes in it and have them review how the handling changes and compares when you stick one of us "un-svelt" paddlers in there?

its a shame theres not a forum to meet people who paddle these diffrent craft, and events where these people come togeather and form an armada of diffrent boats that people could swap and demo to their hearts content.:)

i agree with dooley, I started in a challenger moved quickly to an ME, thought about a rival, bought a Nitro and just picked up a beaten Viper to train on the local runs.

I just picked up a beater boat cheap and there is a "soft spot" under the knee. up here in pennsyltucky our club just had a paddle training work shop thingy on a creek that was half the flow of what is listed as minimum level. The lower flow made for a more technical and vigorous training ground.
