Re: Second Tues of ALF

Some things you shouldn't bring to ALF. Stress: you all put yourselve under enought of it back in the snowy nothern waste land, we don't know what it is but it upsets us to see you all all freaked out. Now, Louie, what makes you think we are full of stress before we arrive in the land of the rednec...

I spoke of "that non-canoe-making Dagger", forgetting that (except for the top-level post) the title line is way unnoticable on cboats.net.

Didn't intend to hammer NOC.

Re: And we should be interested in that non-canoe-making...

One-a these days I'll succeed in getting rid of all the old Dagger stickers left over from when those traitors used to make REAL boats. PM me...I would love to purchase some of the old stickers...I have 5 of the old REAL boats...They were one of the first large manufacturer of wwoc (thanks) and hel...

And we should be interested in that non-canoe-making...

...Dagger, exactly why?

Now, an Esquif Shootout, or a Valley Mill, or Mohawk, or Mad River Shootout, fine. But why should canoeists care about a Dagger shootout?

One-a these days I'll succeed in getting rid of all the old Dagger stickers left over from when those traitors used to make REAL boats.

Uh, yeah, and...

...it's just plain easier to carry a whole boat on yer back, than to carry half a boat by your hand.

Yeh, the Open Boating center of gravity seems to have moved from eastern Tennessee to Quebec.

D'ya s'pose it's because they are a relatively new company?

Maybe making boats is still fun for them. Maybe for the long-established US canoe manufacturers, it has become a J-O-B. I can imagine how making a living from yer hobby could turn yer hobby into a job, and after awhile, since it's just a job, you start thinking about how to maximize the profits. At ...

Great work, Decker!

I can't wait to try one. I'd prolly go for the open model, since it should be several pounds lighter.

I echo Mike's question: any idea what the open/thwarted version might weigh, with Mike Yee outfitting?

I sez "canoe zero" is...

...the lowest level at which you can run the entire stretch without needing to get out of your boat more than twice. For e.g., I have run the middle Cranberry (AW sez zero is 3.5') at 3.1' and the only thing we couldn't run was the Cranberry Twist (because all the water ran under that rock on the le...

Looks like a fairly meaty level.

What was it, around 6'?

I really miss that river. S'bin years. If I ever get to do it again I'll hope to catch it around 5.0' to 5.6'.
