Ryan

I have a 54" you would be welcome to borrow for sizing. I used to use a 60" in OC and a 54" in my playboat conversion, now I use a 56"for everything but tandem OC. I'm up in summit, but I'll be down on the Ark this weekend. let me know if you're interested

yakimas

I've always found just a foam pad for my ankles and letting my feet rest flat much more comfortable in decked boats. In open boats I do like the yakimas though. In a big ez you may not heve enough room for the rails. A quick and cheap setup for hip pads is to use plastic cutting board that you bend ...

the straps in your photo are the ones that came with the dagger pedestal, mounted weird. You could easily make your own with webbing. You can get quick release buckles from dive shops, or if you can find spare rescue pfd belts. I am not sure how the straps are mounted in the picture, but unless you ...

rocker

on boats with lots of rocker, like ocoees and possibly zephyrs sometimes want to stay on the side they go over on. when I find myself going over to my offside too far gone for a brace to work, I go with the momentum and pull the boat past that catching point with momentum. If that doesn't work then ...

big ez

I paddled an EZ for a while at 180# and found it to be slow and lacking in glide for a river runner, it was ez to throw around though I tend to prefer edgier boats. At your weight I would think the big ez would be easy for you to throw around, but the super ez might be more comfortable as a river ru...

looking forward to pictures. sounds cool. Are you sinking anything currently, or will this be a first squirt for you? I got my acrobat out on the upper Colorado last weekend at 2700 for my first downriver squirt. it was a blast. good luck with the stripping

I don't know what you're going to do with the ABS, but it sounds like you might be doing something wrong in the bedroom.

wow Adam,
that's going to be one low volume boat! looks like fun! What do you see the full cut fitting?
I was able to sink my acrobat for the first time on fri, the boat only about a foot under, but its a start. I look forward to tying a mentor

canoe roll

geybear

if you scroll down or search AJ wrote a great description not long ago, and I am sure there are a few clips in the video forums that have rolls in them. You mention not having many other OCs in the area, where are you? Keep practicing, you'll get it.

westwater

there's always westwater, depending on when spring break is permits shouldn't be too much of a problem. I've never done it, but I've heard there's a nice beginner stretch above Moab big water class II.

Pac, I have a non master acrobat low cut for 170, with my weight being about 185, once i figure things out, I hope to sink it. unfortunately to closest pool session to me is a shallow pool. I need to find a deep one. I guess if I were really hardcore the lake won't freeze for another month, bu...
