Just remember Randy, if you can't bring yourself to put the first scratch in it, I offered this weekend. :) Could be worse... A guy I work with in Maine made himself a glass ocoee off a homemade mold. Between the mold and the boat, I can't even guess how many hours he put into it. I think he darn-ne...

May 1st has come and gone... Haven't found any dealers suggesting they have possession of the L'Edge. I'm hoping I can find one in New England to demo this summer. I might even renew my passport and visit the factory for a chance! :)

Thanks,

I'm leaving Arkansas headed up to Vermont on Wednesday. I'd love to stop in eastern TN, western NC, W. Virgina, western Virginia area on Thursday if anyone is free to paddle. Middle Ocoee would be about perfect, I'd guess.

Thanks,
Shep

I think there is a big difference between an expedition 1st aid kit and a day trip first aid kit. Things like burns and diarrhea are very unlikely (or not too serious) on a day trip, vs. being a potential show-stopper on an expedition. I've never done a WW expedition in a place where I couldn't hike...

Oooh! Good point on the pen light. Handy for accidental overnighters and checking pupil reaction in case of suspected head injury.

Good point on the antihistamines. Ibu is great as an NSAID, but cold water is probably equally effective in the short term. Cravats are triangular bandages, but much larger than bandanas. Much easier to make slings with than bandanas.

I was thinking about asking this, and this seems like a good time to follow through. I put together a First-Aid/Pin Dry bag last week. It's Red, and I used a sharpy to put crosses on it. I mostly grabbed medical stuff out of my Ski-Patrol pack, and I focused on practicing at my level: Urban EMT-Basi...

Kentucky- Red River Gorge Area - Mid May?

I am probably going to be in the RRG area from May 6-10 for a Wilderness EMT upgrade, and would be interested in trying to paddle on the 11th if anyone is available. I am comfortable in Class 3, happy to do 3+/4- if people are feeling adventurous. Any suggestions for paddling in the area? I know the...
