A lot of good paddles have been mentioned. Mitchell, Bailey, Galasport, Echo (one of our sponsors!), etc.... The paddle that I have that has seen by far the most use / abuse is a Rough Stuff. Not cheap though. And the water fell isn't as good as the paddles above. You can practically chop wood with ...

Greetings! Sorry to hear you are both having difficulties. Several folks successfully submitted boats today, so it appears this may the worst kind of error - an intermittent one! Please copy and past the error message the next time you (or anyone else) receives it and e-mail me (using the "e-mail" l...

A favor from anyone who has paddled a converted Kayak...
For several years we've had requests from folks to create a database, similar to the "C Museum", but dedicated to listing all the different conversions that folks have done, and what worked and what has not, for a given height / weight / paddling style. After said many years, WE HAVE IT! And yet to ...

I'm not sure. To me that would be ideal. There are other campgrounds nearby, though (including the place the Coastal group camped last year I believe), and if I understand the distances correctly our "normal" campground is 30 min or so away. I'd vote for the closer one if we go ASCI and can't stay r...

ASCI is the other venue in question. I'm going to add a poll - please vote whether you'd like the North Branch or ASCI. Regardless we're looking at the Cquirt event on Friday, and keeping Sunday open for whatever folks want to do. As I see it (very similar to PAC) the Pros / Cons are as follows: Nor...

I'm sure other folks will chime in with other great ideas, but if by "playing" you mean surfing, try and track down a used Dagger Atom. It's more of an intermediate boat, but still OK for an aggressive beginner or someone who is already familiar with water, and is just changing types of watercraft. ...

That depends... You an go several routes: 1) whatever is cheap and local! Gets you on the water in a C1 quickly and cheaply... 2) What type of paddling do you do mostly? River running? Creeking? Surfing / play? There are good "beginner / intermediate" boats for each class... 3) How much do you want ...

Thank you for sending in all the great info on boat designers! I've updated the database. To all the rest of you who have sent information in- THANK YOU as well. I know I have a backlog from part of this summer, and hope to get the remainder of the images up over the next week or so. If anyone is lo...
