That depends... You an go several routes: 1) whatever is cheap and local! Gets you on the water in a C1 quickly and cheaply... 2) What type of paddling do you do mostly? River running? Creeking? Surfing / play? There are good "beginner / intermediate" boats for each class... 3) How much do you want ...

John, thank you VERY much for posting here and clearing things up. It's good to hear you are still in business, and I'm sorry to hear the bureaucratic mess you're in...I don't envy you.
