Re: Comparing new OC-1 solos for 200+lbs

Hey Pat. Just couple thoughts on boats. Paddled some of them and observed others. Firstly Option and Agent. I would put these two in the same category. The Agent is about 8'8 and the Option is 8'7. With the Rocker profile being quite similar (Agent is a tad wider). I ...

Re: Blackfly Ion Max Weight

I asked this question on GDI and was told that at my 215-220 it was fine for park and play, but not necessarily the best option for river running. I took this to mean it was time to diet lol.

Re: Boat Width/Stability vs Height

The Echoee is definitely the Cadillac option. I do love mine, but they are expensive and there aren't likely to be any on the used market. Another option might be a Zephyr. It is light, and sort of like the Ocoee in form, but more rounded, wider ...

Re: Condor vs Rebel

... will be more of a specialist boat in my opinion vs a do it all. If someone says they want a do-it-all boat.. I would recommend the Covert. Agent - Option/Ion Covert 9.3 - Octane 85/Condor Covert 10.5 - Octane/Condor Rebel - ? Firefly 14 - ? ^^ is more or less the comparisons I am comfortable making ...

C-boat for 120 lb 11 year old to learn - which to pick

... move it, a fairly tough layup, and will respond well to his movements. He can easily carry it. It is pretty used but does not leak and is solid. Option 1 - I've got a full cut Acrobat C1 that is pretty worn. But I think it would be a bit edgy overall though the size would not be too bad. If he ...

Re: Condor vs Rebel

... over the last two years. The Condor is a well thought out and tested design with the sexyiest look yet for the Blackflys since the alum. Molded Option dropped. The Condor is stable but not overly stable(the ol barge feeling) the bow has just the right amount of rocker and rise to get you up ...

Re: Blackfly Condor

... Condor down a few different runs now, including the Green Narrows and the Upper Gauley. I'm blown away with this boat, and it'll be replacing the Option as my go to boat on all but the steepest of runs. The best aspect, and what has represented the biggest change from prototype to production, ...
