I guess Eric is reselling your Taureau: http://www.mountainbuzz.com/swap/showproduct.php?product=13148&cat=22 The wider the boat the higher the saddle can be. A planning hull works better, too, in allowing more spread of the knees for more stability. You've got to watch how the cockpit closes in the...

I put holes in a 5" blister at the chine. Tried squirting Gorilla Glue, but found it too thick and then went to Seam Sealer. The SS was easy to inject and has set up hard. I haven't used the boat yet and wonder how long the repair will last. Approach might depend on where those delamination pockets ...

I just put a bulkhead in my Ocoee and feel really secure with it. It worked out as fairly easy to do. The minicell is held down on top with a vinyl gutter thwart and blocked in on the bottom with glued strips. I'm just using a pedestal so the big question was how close I wanted to put the bulkhead t...

I expected not many open boaters would kayak, but it surprises me that once someone has spent much time in a C-1 they wouldn't kayak, too. Plus I would have expected a few kayakers would transition into decked single blade. C-1ing should make anyone a better kayaker. I find by paddling all three typ...

Types of boaters
Kayaker bashing occurs frequently here. I'm curious how many cboaters have spent a large amount of time kayaking. I'd say large is more than a quarter of the time you are in a boat.

I've got a Royalex Ocoee with stress cracks in the cross section where the straps were anchored to the bottom. They partly happened because the ABS core was cut into. I'm replacing the straps with a bulkhead to reduce the flexing. Any predictions how well that'll prolong the life of the boat? Is thi...
