Re: Question for Blackfly Option Owners
I weighed around 225 when I started paddling an Option, I'm 165 now and it's definitely easier and drier. With boats it's hard to say what the max weight is, there is just a continuum, where the heavier you get the wetter the boat is and harder for the boat to be as nimble as it normally is. I defin...

Re: Blackfly Canoe demos out west - where should we go?
I've crossed the border with a lot of boats before. I'm not super worried about it, we'll cross that bridge (or not, depending on how it goes) when we get there. Thanks for all the info, I'll be in contact with some of you familiar plural as we start putting dates on the calendars. In the meantime, ...

Re: Blackfly Canoe demos out west - where should we go?
If you do cross the border check your paper work requirements No kidding! I've crossed the Canadian border a dozen or so times in the last three years with a variety of boats, hopefully having 15 on the truck won't throw up too many red flags. Just to clarify, the only dates I have in my calendar a...

Re: Blackfly Canoe demos out west - where should we go?
Hey Pat! Totally fair questions, I'll try my best to answer: Dates - Team Blackfly pulled a GC permit that ends in mid June, so any time after June 15th is fair game. The thought was to start from Flagstaff and work our way up to Seattle/Vancouver, trying to time water levels. We can wait until snow...

Blackfly Canoe demos out west - where should we go?
Hey guys, Team Blackfly is pulling together travel plans for 2016 and we'd like to head out west! I know a lot of western paddlers haven't had a chance to demo the newer canoes, especially the aluminum-molded boats. If we were going to hold some demos in California, the PNW, Vancouver, and elsewhere...

Wanted: Spanish Fly
Just seeing if anyone has a Spanish Fly out there that they'd like to get some cash for. My budget puts me into the older, rougher category. If it's been cracked (or still is) I'm still interested. If you don't paddle your Fly anymore, let me know. I'm in the northeast now, I'll be at CheatFest in M...

Jim Coffey breaks OC1 waterfall record
Hey guys, We're finally back from Mexico, where Jim Coffey fired up 60ft Cascada Truchas, breaking Steve Frazier's old mark. We also got to run Rio de Oro and Roadside Alseseca, two of Mexico's most amazing runs; it's hard to beat a river that has two clean 30+ ft waterfalls, a paddle out into the o...

New Video - The one with the guy running Baby in a barrel
Hey guys, Cross Strokin' 4: The Lost Beaters is now live! This is a step back from the previous edits, instead showcasing some spring and summer highlights while I was rehabbing my shoulder. No big drops or super gnar, just lots of fun. And yes, it does have Nathan swimming over Baby Falls next to h...
