Yeah, still looking for boats. I'm in Eureka.
Let me know what you've got.

Re: Twister Vs. Edge Thoughts from the Experts
Roy, Thanks for the input. I've been considering racing in the 15 foot class as opposed to the 13 foot class, so do you have an opinion on the Edge 15? I've always been handicapped by my size when it comes to boating, they just don't make a lot of boats for guys who look more like linebackers than c...

Twister Vs. Edge Thoughts from the Experts
Would like some help from the experts. Class V makes both of these designs and I'm thinking about ordering one, as my search for a canoe on the West Coast has so far yielded 1 Outrage X, and since I already own one (even if it is on perma-loan) I'm just not sure I want to buy another. Plus its 8 hou...

Re: Looking for OC-1 in CA
I saw an Outrage X for sale on Bend craigslist, under boats. https://bend.craigslist.org/boa/d/mad-river-outrage-whitewater/6443896294.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Also, a friend was selling a Genesis, though that seemed pretty far down on the "wish list". Just sent him an em...

Re: foot pegs - or no pegs?
Yep.
I can't sit comfortably in the canoe with my feet on the pegs like one would assume you should. I use ankle blocks and tuck my toes under the pegs. Get everything else to fit right and you won't fall out.

Re: "best" tripping boats?
Old thread, but I have the answer and I'm bored. Blue Hole changed the designation of some of their boats if they had WOOD gunnels installed. The OC-A (Open Canoe, Model A) became the OC-B. Likewise the OC17-A became the OC17-B with wood instead of Aluminum. And when the Starburst wore wood gunnels....

Re: Looking for OC-1 in CA
I've never paddled the Defiant, but it just looks like a good boat...not like a cutting-edge race boat, mind you, but I'm not John Kaz, either, so it won't matter a whole lot. To me it always looked a bit like an Encore with sharper edges and a flatter bottom...which is something I'd be into. Thanks...

Thanks for the info, all who commented. I think I'll look somewhere besides a blast for a solo boat.

Re: Looking for OC-1 in CA
Sorry,
I didn't read your response properly vis-à-vis the Caption. I know MT makes those beauties brand new.
If I'm still looking for a boat when you're headed to Lake Almanor I would certainly be interested in a used Caption!
Thanks!
Rob

Re: Looking for OC-1 in CA
River Lover, I would certainly be interested in boating. A friend and I are planning some canoe trips when he gets ashore (he's a merchant marine) and we'll most likely be hitting some rivers on the I-5 corridor or the Klamath Basin this spring, depending on what is running. A third person makes shu...

Thoughts on Esquif Blast??
So, the Blast has been out for a long time, but for some reason, I've never seen one in person. So, obviously, I've never paddled one. I'm looking for a new boat, and I like long, fast boats. I'm big, 6.5/6.6 240/250 lbs, and I've paddled Encores and Outrage X's on every type of water, and although ...

Re: Team Silverbirch USA
I love watching your videos. Really killer stuff.
So, your Rebel 11.3. What's the weight capacity on it? I like the lines on it more than the Covert, but I'm 6.6 245/250, can the Rebel carry the same weight as the Covert 10?
Just wondering.

Looking for OC-1 in CA
Hey all, I'm possibly looking to expand my fleet a bit, and out on the West Coast one has to kinda take what they can get. I'm interested in the following boats...how interested will depend on which boat and how much, of course. I'm in Humboldt County, but may be willing to do some traveling for the...

Re: Tippecanoe
All this headache on TRIM and FISH and SWEDE and EDGE and THIS and THAT and the OTHER bloody THING is another reason I actually LIKE symmetrical hulls. Just get in it and make sure it is perfectly balanced...congratulations! You're done. No more screwing with it. As far as I can tell and am aware, (...
