Re: Kelly-Rand's Storm Chaser

I installed new bottom anchor points 4" or so forward of the originals this weekend. At a local pond I tried these out and from a knee connection stand point they are much better but for rolling I'm still not tight to the boat when upside down. The reason is that with the forward anchor point the st...

Re: Kelly-Rand's Storm Chaser

I'd have to agree, but I have an interest in it. I still need to get my knees locked down to the deck. I'm thinking of doing a three point strap anchor. Have any of the other owners made strap modifications? I really do not want to do a bulkhead as that would limit what I could stuff up in the hull....

I think its too narrow for comfortable or stable C1ing.

Re: River Elf Road Trip

I have to thank Chris and Trevor for timing their road trip with mine. The demo run down the NBP in the Storm Chaser was rewarding in the fact it performed up to and beyond my expectations. It has enough acceleration that I won't regret giving up my Atom. Now if only it would rain here in Mass so I ...

I'd love to actually paddle Stoney Creek. Shade Creek was fun last year. I'll miss it all this year.

I do hope to get down that way Memorial Day or early June.

Re: A Three Year Project: Slalom C1 to the latest specs

It looks good. I saw the prototype on your car at New Boston but too late to get a chance to try it as you were on your way home by the time I came by.
So what is the reason for the concave forward hull design. Does it noticably help in tracking or is that not the intention at all?

Re: Storm Chaser

I guess I always travel the longest way.

PM me with your recommended route and I'll see if my copilot is interested in a weekend out that way. We'll be looking for a BnB nearby.

Storm Chaser

I want to try this boat. I live in the Boston Ma. area and I know there is one 5 hours away, but I would prefer somewhere closer. I will be traveling to D.C. in the near future and if someone lives close to there I would like to know.

Re: Air bag repair

Let me posit a theory based on my experience. My open canoe which I gave up years ago I kept the bags inflated year round and that was for at least 7 years in a row. I never had a leak. These were vinyl voyager bags. They stayed in the boat through freezing NE winters and still had air in them when ...

Where can I get results besides the ICF. They only support proprietary software.

Re: Fiberglass thigh strap loops

I had the same problem. I finally had Kaz glass the loops in and they have been solid for the last ten years. Visually the job requires that additional layers of glass cloth be laid over the strands of the loops you have prepared. Just think you are applying all of your body weight to the 8 sq in of...

Shep,
There is a group on yahoo, neriverrunners, that you can monitor for whose doing what where. I may go to the Fife if that is what is running, but there are many other first choices if rain comes.

Re: New squirt C1 anyone?

I'm a litle skeptical that this approuch will gain support. There are currently two recent C-mystery designs in limited circulation. The Ceamweaver and Mentor. Have you tried these two boats? The limitation to C-mystery is fine leverage control. I have read many posts regarding C-mystery moves and f...

Re: Boat of the Week - Perception Gyra Max

I last paddle my GyroMax in 2002 when I bought the Atom. It was my first C1 and I've never missed it. Looking back its rounded hull was not the right shape for how I fit in a canoe.

You have it upside down. The bungee should be on top when you put it on. Wish I had a picture.
