Re: C1 Outfitting

Looks awesome, good to see i'm not the only nut case.! I like your solution for the outer knee strap anchor. If you could get it lower and bring the knee pad up the side, it will make the knee straps feel just like a bulkhead. The concern about the back rest is valid. It's hard to tell from the pics...

Re: Just curious

"1: How long does it take you to save money up for a new boat?" a lot less time than it takes you to release one  (~2 years and counting since you send out a teaser) "2: How often should a canoe company release new designs?" However often it takes to stay competitive. Longer if you have a great...

Re: how's it look?

roll looks good to me, but what struck me is your narrow grip. i think it wouldn't hurt to move your shaft hand down the shaft about 8 inches..

Re: Thinking outside the weld

the great gonzo wrote: Before you start welding on your boat, try to find some scrap pieces of HDPE to practice with until you got the heat gun settings and tyour technique right.

TGG!
That's some good advice. I made such a huge mess of my first welding job that I decided it would be my last..

4 OZ for 22 bucks!? For gluing foam? Have you lost your mind?...

And yeah Busterblue, I found the super 77 spray to be NOT nearly as strong.

Re: Feather Fest Question

nope. that time of year the only water available is scheduled releases. lobin (IV) and tobin (V) are good though, and worthy of many laps.

There is a chance the south feather may be releasing at the same time but it's class V.

Re: C1 Insert Input

You'll probably get some interest if you build it, test it, tweak it, test it again...etc. Then post some pics. I would love to see what you come up with. I've got one design that I sold through here. I offered to build one batch and sold 11. They were beautiful, functional, and expensive and it bar...

Re: ratchet strap/snowboard strap

I've had bad luck with ratchets for thigh straps for the reasons below, but I love them for knee straps. I tried quite a few different buckles and most (but I've heard not all) get very hard to release under pressure. The greater the pressure the harder to release. They also are not nearly as strong...

Re: Loose Dagger factory outfitting

Not real clear what you mean. By "foam blocks" do you mean the front and rear pillars? Those are not supposed to be glued. By "factory outfitting" do you mean a plastic pedestal? That only needs to be bolted to the sides of the hull in the front. The back is fit into the rear pillar, but can float s...
