Rec Repair Skid Plates

EZ: I have installed quite a few Rec Repair skid plates, and have found that: 1) They take a bit more time to form than is suggested in the literature -- no worry, they are worth the effort. 2) The thickened G-Flex adhesive is absolutely great for attaching them. 3) They do drag a bit harder over sh...

H2 Pro

Coz: If the price is right, and you don't mind an incredibly heavy, but bulletproof boat, the H2 Pro might do what you're looking for. It is by no means a "cutting edge" boat, but if you can stand being a few years out of date, it just might do. The ME is also an older design, but those who have the...

XL15 - Pocket Canyon - Appalachian

Some observations: If you are light enough (yourself and your paddling partner), both the XL15 and the Pocket C will be much better turning and "whitewater-capable" than the Appalachian. The Pocket is definitely the smallest of the three and will be the most "load sensitive." I have paddled all thre...

Re: is there a 12 step program?

All you really need to do is:

1) obtain one large cardboard box (three hundred cubic feet should do it minimally...);
2) place all of the minicell scraps in it;
3) label it "Pieces of Minicell too Small to Save"
4) and place it behind all of the more immediately-needed gear.

Problem solved...

Rec Repair Skid Plates

Folks: I've been working with the Rec Repair skid plates for a couple of months now (although they are not in dealers' hands quite yet.) A few notes and observations: 1. The material used on the skid plate kits differs from the repair material (patches and patch kits) in a few ways: a. The skid plat...

G-flex

Folks: I've used both the 650 and 655 (thickened) compounds and have really liked this stuff! I've found that it (so far) has great adhesion, even to really odd surfaces and can be mixed with other West epoxies to vary properties (particularly cure time...) I've been using this product to adhere som...

Possible help on transport

Joel:

If David can get the boat to Cedar Falls (IA) or near there, we can either store it or bring it up to you when we get up to Minneapolis this Fall.

Let me know if this would help.

Midway

Karl:

I'm in Cedar Falls, IA. If you can get "partial" rides for your Phantom, I can make room for it in the garage between rides.

THANKS, Eric N!

Eric Nyre of Canoe Colorado was kind enough to store and transport the Cascade for me. We made contact in Waterloo, IA, as he was solo driving from Denver to Canoecopia in Madison.

Thanks again, Eric!

Eric: Thanks!

E:

I didn't get the email yet, but I'll take you up on the transport and storage offer, subject only to making sure that the boat is still available and that I can get it to your place somehow.

The boat is the Cascade that was posted on the Denver Craigslist...

Thanks!

FOUND: Boat transport from Denver to Iowa or nearby...

Good day! Is anybody likely to be driving from near Denver to anywhere near northeastern Iowa (with room for a small boat) some time this winter or spring (2008)? Or... Is there anybody in the Denver area who would be willing to garage a boat for two or three months? (It is, oddly enough, a bit hard...
