Re: Big Waterfall Running with critical thinking
The first shot of this video demonstrates what I was talking about well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sx4ZwSGdwxQ&sns=em . (The same run of the same drop videoed from shore is at about the 3:11 mark). You can tell I landed very flat off a big drop, but because I was leaning forward/ tucking aggres...

Jigsaw or sawzall.
Or see if anyone in your area teaches swift water rescue and might want it for pinned boat practice. I bet you could pin that thing all sorts of places (at least until it breaks in half)

Re: chopping a wavesport x
Some of them are crosslink, which isn't weldable. the crosslink ones have logos like this: http://www.oocities.org/yakkyparrot/boats/photos/wavesport_x_topside.jpg Linear ones have logos in these locations: http://media.whydevelop.com/o/www.otter-sports.com/media/505.jpg Even if it's a linear boat, ...

"I like the Bandit, but they wear down too fast." "I'm going to walk this one, its a lefty(righty) move." "I ran that TOTALLY dry." "That's easy with two blades." "My boat is SO heavy." "What kind of batteries are you using for your pump?" "The new Royalex isn't nearly as good as the old stuff." "It...

Re: Stohlquist FreeRyde gasket replacement
I've Replaced neoprene ankle gaskets (worst idea ever) with latex socks, it was basically the same as replacing a latex gasket. I can't imagine doing the neck would be much different, other than the fact that you would have an exposed gasket (nothing covering it), but that's really not a huge issue.

Re: 2012 NBoP Armada.. on the Cheat Roll Call...
It looks like the only day I can mold more boats in the next month is the 28th, so it looks like I'm going to miss the festivities (I might make an appearance Sunday). Mark Z will have Blackfly demo boats to try out.

Re: Option vs. L'Edge
One Option has been broken so far- by one of my team paddlers. In all honesty, its going to be a toss up between the two. The Option has a slight edge on hull speed, the L'edge has a slight edge on dryness, and it's a toss up on stability and ease of rolling (they're have their differences in this a...

Re: Boat Weight Ranges
It's a bit more complicated with canoes compared to decked boats. My approach has been to design a hull for the weight of the paddler Plus water. So what you end up with is rather than a boat feeling too small as paddler size increases, more often the boat feels to wet to bigger paddlers. Some peopl...
