Re: Who makes an adjustable height pedestal?

Oh ya. I have a chek paddle cat that originally came with bike seats. I can not possibly come up with an adequate description of the discomfort that developed after more than an hour. On a bike your weight is distributed between your legs and butt, you don't have straps pulling you down adding furth...

Re: Who makes an adjustable height pedestal?

Like some mountain bike seatposts, can we also have built in shock absorber, please? For those really big boofs! :D On a serious note, I to am looking for the perfect ww tripping set up. I've been using thigh straps to a reinforced traditional web seat. It works quite well for me performance wise an...

Re: Dagger Whitewater Canoes are coming BACK

A tale about how a canadian shortage on canoe specific plastic and new trade resrictions on raw materials will result in all immediate future esquifs being molded in pink, would be funny. Teasing us with a new line of boats is just mean. :-?

Re: Extrasport Tactical PFD - reviews?

Thanks Smurf, for some great insight. I have ordered one and was planning on having a custom low profile pocket sewn to the molle strapping rather than the bulky clip ons shown on the Extrasport site. I'll now stick with something removeable in case I catch a Grand ranger having a slow day. Will pos...

Mohawk blows .........

..... it. Over 5 weeks have passed since they promised me an overnight response/info on an inquiry. Two reminders later and still nothing. Two plus sales lost. I was just deciding on outfitting options on a new viper and the gf wanted a solo13. Guess they're too busy designing new boats to worry abo...

Re: Extrasport Tactical PFD - reviews?

Thanks for the input Martin. I'll hold off a little longer for more input/reviews, but I think I might go for it. I tend to keep minimal in my pockets and have an excellent outdoors seamstress that could custom make a small low profile pocket and biner garage, etc. Will report back to all if I proce...

Extrasport Tactical PFD - reviews?

Between getting on a Grand trip and re-certing my SWRT with a particularily sadistic instructer soon - I'm thinking a higher float pfd could be nice. Any reviews or feedback on the Extrasport Tactical? It looks pretty clean for a high float. Though it is a uni-fit, I'm a large, so maybe not alot of ...

Viper 12 advice?

In my search for a bigwater tripping canoe, I'm now considering a Viper 12. I've paddled one empty and liked it, but I question how it would feel with a load. I'd like to be able to do self support trips with about 60 to 80 pounds, plus my 200. Would this be a feasible "grand canyon" boat? How would...

Re: Wenonah RECON ?

Unfortuneately, I'm no where near a canoe shop. I'm buying blind and options are a bit limited. Southern composites like Millbrooks aren't options.

The Probes look possible. Would a 12' be feasible? Or look 13'? Any comments on Mohawks factory outfitting?

Re: Wenonah RECON ?

Still hoping for more advice/info. I've paddled Viper 12's and really liked them, but never with a load. I felt it might not be too friendly if weighed down, maybe too edgy. The Vertige looks too round and tame. The Blast could be a possibility. Could be pretty slow with all it's rocker and big blun...

Wenonah RECON ?

Has anyone paddled one? Looking for reviews and opinions. I'd like a boat in the 12 to 13' range to use for teaching and tripping in mid to big volume water, as well as "flatter water, easy days" where my short boats seem slow. I'm about 200lb geared up and would expect to be carrying 10 to 80 lbs. ...

Re: Spark... love or not love....

I'm dismayed that you do not follow the time honored traditions of "finders keepers".

I'll elaborate no further as I plan to work this one subtly ...... for a long time.
Awesome day on the Tak, good laughs on the way back, and some ultra cool father/daughter surfing by canotrouge.

Re: Spark... love or not love....

It's not for you.

Sell it cheap (give it) to a lighter anglo friend. Otherwise you'll just wind up looking as silly as you do driving around in that new car.
You look like a shriner.
