Millbrook Boats Vintage - How to identify

Does anyone know how to tell the vintage of a Millbrook? Any concerns with aged kevlar if it has not been abused?

Re: Go to boat?

Currently my Octane 91 as it is the most forgiving and easy to paddle for a relative beginner. However, I did pick up an Outrage not to long ago and briefly paddled it through some gates. Even without any outfitting to speak of I could speculate that it will be the future favorite once I get it up a...

Re: Moving from MN to VA?

The Mighty Cheat in Albright, WV is a good bet. If you go to Teeter's Campground on a weekend you should be able to find some boaters. I will be up that way this weekend but running the Narrows (2-3) section. New River Gorge is also always running and a good place to find people. Little Falls on the...

NY Paddling this weekend 05/29-05/31

Going to be up in the big chitty for the weekend and looking to link up with someone within a few hours of NYC to do some paddling. Anyone up for something or can point me in the right direction? Already posted on KCCNY.

Re: best cboating online videos

I've always been a big fan of the "Cross Strokin'" series. You can find them on Vimeo.

If you poke around with the tags and who has liked the videos you can usually find lots of good canoe videos. Enjoy.

Re: Help identifying Mohawk canoe

Thanks for the replies. Given the price tag and needing another lake and light whitewater capable tandem I think I will pass.

That is correct sir. Open boat saddle with the bulkhead and the little storage compartment. Thanks for looking.

Still WTB Perception Saddle

I am still looking for a perception saddle for a project. I am in D.C. but travel occasionally (frequently to central VA and Baltimore) and pay via pay-pal if someone wants to ship me one on the cheap. Thanks for looking.

Re: hip pads

As to the cons: I found that before I shaped them properly my pads were too bulky and my foot would sometimes get wedged between the saddle and the pad when trying to exit the boat. I admittedly have a pretty tight fit in there. I never felt seriously threatened but it was scary enough to take the t...

Re: hip pads

I installed hip pads in my Octane 91 and love them. Increases control when paddling and makes rolling easier. I am sure you could buy them somewhere but I think making your own is going to be the best bet. Just get some mini cell foam and shape away until you get the desired formation. I can pull my...

Re: Foot braces on Perception saddle

Thanks for the response. I use foot pegs in my other boat (Blackfly Octane 91) and find that I cannot roll the boat without them. This saddle was just installed in a Dagger Caption that I plan to use (temporarily) as a solo tripper for the early summer (I guess I won't be rolling it with gear loaded...

Foot braces on Perception saddle

I have a perception saddle that I just installed and as I was paddling it around the lake it dawned on me that I did not have foot pegs. So, are the Yakima style braces my only option? Do they install easily onto a Perception saddle? Any clever and cheap (more important) solutions that I could utili...
