Anyone headed East?
10 ft. boat needs a ride from boulder area to Asheville, NC area. I have family in the DC and Western KY areas, so anywhere in between would work. Ideally, it would be sometime in the next two weeks.
some beer/trade/gas money could change hands for sure.
Let me know ASAP!

Not dissing the probe, it's great! It's just a little Frankensteiny on it's mix-n-match gunwale setup and patchwork hull. Those repairs are all still holding strong since it’s purchase years ago at GAF. The fella sold it to me for a song. He was a charitable open boater who correctly bargained that ...

Thanks for all the info. What I love about the Viper is how it snaps into eddies and is very responsive to river currents. I am definitely looking at shorter boats. Does the Rodeo, even without chines, retain that "snappy" performance? The only other critique I've heard is that it is not a dry boat,...

Mohawk Rodeo
I can find very little information about how this boat paddles. Any satisfied owners out there?
How does it function as a primary boat for class II-IV river running, eddy hopping, and surfing/playing little river features along the way?
any comparisons to other boats? Probe? Viper? etc?

Probe 12 thwart modification
Hmm, so seeking some advice on my old beater boat the probe 12. If I cut new thwarts 1.5 inches shorter (or so) would that sharpen up the chines for some snappier response? I feel it would also make the boat a little narrower for x-forwards and general strokes. The boat is good for plunking beginner...

Snow Canoeing! -- Adult sleds for adult kids. (video)
Well, lightning has struck twice, and the south got dumped on again (a foot of snow is a pretty big event down here, even in the mountains) So without thinking twice, we hitched up the canoes again, and went for two days of class II-IV downhill snow canoeing! After our practice round last month, we ...
