Anyone know any whitewater paddlers in the Philippines?
Hi y'all, I'm stuck here in the Philippines and going stir crazy. After a long drought of too much work and no paddling, I got out last week and can confirm that there is paddling to be had. Some of it even seems to be pretty darned good, even if the access is tricky and it's more expedition style i...

OC1 / C1 boats available for use in NZ
Gudday y'all I've been off the board for a while, but the season is starting to warm up in NZ, which means good weather for boatin. I'm unfortunately not there to enjoy it, but Jo and I have got two OC1's and a C1 Blunt stored with my parents in Auckland, and they're available for folks to use if yo...

Thanks!
Hi Craig
Thanks, I've dropped him a note.
Thanks Louie - I'd thought of that, but I'm hoping to find something down there if possible. I'll probably pick up a used Mystic and convert it too, for harder runs.
Cheers,
Matt

Wanted: Small OC1 in NZ or Australia, borrow or buy
Hi GUys, Apologies for posting this in the main forum, but I know from living overseas that the for sale forum isn't that interesting....and can be downright depressing. My wife and I are going travelling for a few months starting at Xmas and we're planning to go home to NZ. One thing we really want...

Broken rough stuff
Hi Adam, Believe it or not....I broke my Rought Stuff last week...on a class 2 with a good flow. I don't know what happened, but I looked down at one point and thought....hmmm...that blade looks mighty flat. Then I noticed the back rib had a fold in it. Buga! Still, it's taken 2+years off alpine cre...

From the front or from the stern
Hiya Semdoug, My undetanding of this is that it refers to where the majority of the control/steering strokes are placed., either at the bow or at the stern. For a boat "paddled at the bow" you'll mainly be using bow correction strokes (bow draws, cross bow draws) and often as a part of a power strok...

I'll also be getting in sometime Wed evening to the bahnhof. It depends on how quickly I can escape work and on the traffic.
Green VW T4 bus with a Zoom, a Phantom and some other boats (not sure which yet) on the roof....

ABS slurry - what solvent....
YOu guys are talking of using acetone. Previously I've mainly heard people discuss using MEK (methyl ethyl ketone). Has anyone used both? Any comparisons/preferences? I need to do a repair. Just discovered a potential source of the ABS (I haven't been able to find ABS pipe here in Switzerland - no i...

Hiya Insolence Thanks heaps for the Spanish translation. I confess not to being able to speak a word of Spanish, so I'll just have to trust you on it: :) You know, I should pr obably also translate Falk's German translation into Swiss German (or try to...it'd be an amusing exercise atleast :) ) Does...

See if you can get your dealer to prepare the boats and deliver to them. The cost should be much less.
Cheers,
Matt

Hiya Falk Great summary of all the Armada info and links! AWESOME! Hiya Jakke Bummer you can't join, but could you send me details of the Symposium? I'm still working out where I'll be that weekend. (sking or paddling or something!) If you are ever in Switzerland, do look me up. As to difficulty, th...

Not so big...but...
Well it's not so big, but because of that a lot of people don't tend to travel far....it's hard to convince many of the locals here that 1.5hrs each way is perfectly reasonable for a day trip...and 3hrs is not out of the question...although I admit I've got lazy too. There's some good paddling near ...
