I've paddled a Sequel a couple of times and know a couple of folks with them (though one is a Whitesell Whirlwind). Not a bad boat, might fit the bill for you - it's not edgy. Predictable, stable, turned well..

Beluga Appaloosa Saddle

... 5200, a urethane adhesive Good luck finding any Whitesell aluminum thwarts. If you don't locate any Whitesell thwarts you can make them for your Whirlwind using a ash thwart and aluminum angle. Buy 1" x 1" x 1/8" thick aluminum angle at Lowes or Home Depot and and cut to fit the ends of the ash ...

Esquif/Beluga Appaloosa Saddle install question

All right. I have one of these and am going to insall it in a Whitesell Whirlwind. The Whirlwind previously had a pedastal saddle, not the perception bulkhead. Looking at the photos of the Esquif Raven with the bulkhead saddle it is not held in by thwarts. Is ...

Re: Whitesell

I don't believe the boat is a whirlwind. It is older, probably the first generation of Whitesell. It is still in pretty good shape with alot of life left. It would be a good starter boat or good for someone running big water (has been down ...

Whitesell Descender, Piranha - ditto on the ugh. But, Whitesell Whirlwind = Bluehole something or other = David Sherril design = a pretty good boat. Tried one recently, probably wet for the larger paddler, but looked like a candidate to tuck the rails in. ...

What kind of Whitesell? Do you still have it?

I am guessing it is a standard Pyhranna or Descender. If on the off chance it is a Whitesell Whirlwind, please let me know if you still have it. That is one of my all-time favorite boats and I miss mine.

Oh yeah, let me know what other gear you have left, if any, after the gear swap. Thanks

Mike: I started in an ME, went to an outrage X(not what it should have been), to a whitesell whirlwind(my fat A-- overloaded it) back to an ME ( got it for 150.00) now in an Ecore. The Encore is a great boat for a big paddler. I am 6'7" 250 and dropping weight. I have ...
