[*]Has anyone actually has tested their flow rate, versus a pumps advertised rate. Like maybe timing a known quantity of water. Yes, sadly enough, I have. At 12V, attwood v1250 pumps about 650 GPH with 18 in. of head. Not sure how that compares to the spec since I no longer have it, but my guess is...

I'm 5'10", 200-210 lbs.(depending on how many microbrews I've had in the last month or so) and have been paddling the prelude on class III and IV- for about a season now. I really like the prelude so far. Can't compare it to the Det for ya since I've never paddled one for any reasonable amount of ti...

You could probably do it if you went no frills. Why not start small with a couple of overnighters and work your way up to 3-4 nights. Wrt the Black Canyon only thing missing was a spare paddle, so it's still hasn't been open boated Somebody open-boated it - there's a pic on the front page of rockymo...

LOG
RodeoClown, were you at the Lyon's outdoor games on Saturday June 13th? I was driving through town and saw a short little OC-1 on top of a car, along with some kayaks - couldn't tell what it was but it kind of looked like your blackfly from the video. If it was you, did you take a spin in the a-hole...

I'm sure many will disagree with me but... Save your money on the expensive battery and buy a lighter paddle. You can get an SLA that weighs 4 lbs for $20 or an equivalent li-ion for >$120 that weighs 1 lb. What's 3 lbs in the grand scheme of things (unless your a racer in which case you probably sh...

Keez, I think getting out of our boat depends a lot on how you setup the thigh straps or lapbelt. For instance, if you make the rear thigh strap attachment point low and behind the ankle - it makes it much harder to slide out of thigh straps. I don't have any experience with lap belts but I imagine ...

All about diversity
Hey, we had a pretty good season warm-up run yesterday on the fractions section of the Arkansas. Somebody pointed out that of our group 9 boats not a single repeat So I took a pic: http://inlinethumb22.webshots.com/43285/2647830160095770354S600x600Q85.jpg From left to right: Rodeo kayak of some sort...

Jakke, I just posted how I installed straps with the bulkhead over here. There are also a few other link and pics of other folks setups: http://www.cboats.net/cforum/viewtopic.php?t=7959649 Not sure if you could do this with a tareau - or if you would really want to - but I suppose it's possible. ks...

what I ended up with
I got my straps installed and I really like this setup. I can now roll the prelude without the need of footpegs. The straps really hold me in tight. The straps are connected to the gunnel right where the hipads are using bolts and big washers - like phil's setup. http://inlinethumb35.webshots.com/42...

There was just a thread on this recently. I was having the same problem as you - rolling was impossible my prelude with bulkhead. With the encouragement of the people on this board I added thigh straps - now I am almost in the boat too tight and rolling is easy (well at least in a pool it is - we'll...

no pegs
nope, no pegs for me - I mean I have them but I don't use 'em. Can't stand to have my feet up like that - I lay my feet flat and curl my toes up underneath them a bit. I think I might try the straps with the quick release airplane buckles - kinda wanted to avoid straps since it's so easy to jump in ...

bulkhead and rolling
Hi, So I've got a new(to me) pyranha prelude with bulkhead outfitting and I can't roll this thing to save my life. When I sweep out for the setup, my butt comes off the seat about 6 inches or more making it hard to stay attached to the boat. This is my first boat without straps and I'm wondering for...

Shocked and saddened by this news today. You're paddling knowledge, friendship, and sense of humor will be greatly missed. RIP John.
