Yes you are describing a high brace. Also a a "righting pry stroke" is helpful to know and practice although it is had a counterintuitive feeling to start with

Re: Question for Millbrook Owners in the SE
I've had my Millbrook on these SE rivers;
Chatooga sec 4 , Little from the Sinks to the Elbow, middle Tellico as low as1.2. Daddy's creek @1.5, Obed, Big South Fork. All these were no problem or caused damage. However did Tremont with bad results though

Re: Question for Millbrook Owners in the SE
Millbrook canoes are plenty tough. You'll be happy with one as long as you paddle it with occasional encounters with rocks. Not meant to be a sled on wet rocks though. They are very nimble. I paddle mine on the NH Swift Pemi and Warner with no issues. You can look up river info on AW to get an idea

Re: Walk in runs and carrying an OC1 - what for a carry syst
Maybe a couple cam straps between front and rear thwarts to act as a suspension system to rest on shoulders

Millbrook Blink. A great boat light stable fast short just don't deliberately smash it too much. It is a tough boat though

Re: New Millbrook boat for wife - Flashback vs. Shacho
We have one of each. Shacho is definitely a drier more nimble boat. I'd give the flashback a slight edge in top end speed and stability but not by a lot. The sharper ends of the Flashback will probably need a bit more maintenance.

Re: Just curious
1, about a year if I want a new boat.
2, release them as they are ready for market. What do you have to lose? The competition may just get another design out while you wait for the right time

Re: Detonator in heavy water - what am I doing wrong?
I think it was just a bad day for you. I paddled a Deonator for a while before I got my option. I still use it from time to time As a creek boat it's great except the hull can wear on the chines if you run a lot of scrapey low water runs. Once on bigger rivers it seems to lose its"glide" so it needs...
