TSRA

TSRA has 2 every year. I know several of the instructors and they are good. I think they are done for this year but try paddletsra.com to find info.

Confidence builder, isn't it

Agree on keep practicing. After I first learned I went to the lake and did it over and overtill I had the muscle memory. After then I still practiced but the moves themselves were more automatic. A tip; when you first flip stop for a second and calm yourself. I've missed a lot of rolls thru being in...

in Boatertalk Gear swap. As mentioned above this boat would do what you want now plus would allow you to progress to class 3, or above, as you and your new tandem partners wish. Good price too.

My 2 favorites are Open Boat Fun and Whitewater Canoeing. Both are real good. I also like some of PLG's videos of Louie and company.

I'll post on Alabama WW and TSRA as well as keep an eye out both on the rivers and enroute to them.
I would expect whoever took it will get a surprise when they first try to paddle it.

A toyato Tacoma with shell with the boat on the roof+1" just behind the windshield cost 1 mpg. I think the automatic Tranny is the real problem. Same truck with a 5 speed lost same but was still 2 or 3 better!

Oh auto was 18 stick was 20-21.

I think a lot of people have gone from a slat(I'm thinking paddling thwart) to a pedestal for the same reason you are going the other way. I was always to loose on a slat.

WOW

Tommy, you looked like a bumblebee amongst butterflys. I see a great future..... The rose in your teeth was a great touch.
I liked the last couple minutes too.

There is an inflatable oc1/2 out there. Has seats across the top tubes that you kneal from. Not sure what protected your knees from rocks tho. I tried one at slice and dice years ago. It's still on the market but I've forgotten the name.

Which fingers? All or just the middle 2? Its possible you are gripping so hard that you are causeng the fingers to bend unnaturally around the shaft where it joins the T grip. It seems there was a thread about this a year or so ago.

I like the Zephyr for its weight and the edges are easy to get used to. I've paddled an Outrage for a while and find it to be if not first then a close second in playing, creeking, river running etc to anything out there. Admittedly I tend to be a go for it paddler(sometimes). I think a Zephyr would...

Looks Good

I don't know that I would add any more. I would emphasize not trying to do all these things at first. Pick 2 and do them till the attitude becomes ingrained then pick another etc. After a while all will be part of the river habit. I would add one: Make sure to have fun, thats what it is about. Bill

Opinion

The Doe Gorge is significantly easier than the Laurel Fork. It is still a nice run but, in my opinion, much more open with none of the big drops as in the video.
