I miss his humor, ignore his insight

His writing style is great, hopefully all the misspellings "part of the plan."

thirds on the drysuit

definitely drysuit. I don't need a pee zip, just drop your shoulders and your good to go, at least in my and my sons old and new NRS'. Up here in Ct. it turned into shorts and t-shirt paddling...under a drysuit. Pretty soon it'll be fleece or poly under the Triton. Winter is far and away my favorite...

haven't paddled

I got bursitus in June from too much canoe poling, too much poling was from levels not being great paddling, and last paddle was in May I think, down from my usual 3 runs a week, and daily for a couple weeks in March or April when local was ripping. The one swim I remember was catching a curler, and...

cool

gotta' agree with your responses I suppose. Haven't seen the real ornery responses I guess, and I prefer an "in your face, we can agree to disagree" type forum rather than the persistent "I'm an expert, you're an idiot" mentality I see at one site. Think the reason I don't follow the subject at hand...

relative

All I can think is the whole picture. Paddle nothing like your video shows, but sometimes you got to get wet to stay dry. Example I'm thinking of, local run up here was real real high. Usual line is to avoid first wave (rock), and catch the holes. At high level, holes were keepers left and right, so...

so....if someone misspells half his words, how do ya' know you're getting insulted or sworn at?  Seriously, I check 3 paddling sites, my regional one is pretty level headed, the national one has a lot of people with hemorrhoids and bunched panties, and this one has a load of people who ...

wow $100...$30 Anybody near Ct. that wants one can stop by. I'll let one go (converted a Whitesell to Tandem) for what I paid for it. Aaron had it in the Pirana for a few years, his training boat. It was unused when we got it and is mint now. Cost would be...free. Just passing the karma forward. I'l...

Total agreement with prior post, a bit of flex robs efficiency BUT...my Werner which has a bigger stiffer blade causes elbow problems when i paddle too much. I drove 5 hours once to paddle, and that was too far. 3 hours is okay, but my favorite runs are 22, 27, 33 and 35 minutes away. Since we don't have jack for water this year since may, I took up mountain biking :D Figure averaging 120 paddle outings a year for the past 3 years, my knees are enjoying ...

I like the Esquifs layup from the ones I've seen. Seems the delaminated vinyl on my Encore is thicker than the whole sheet on some of the mfgs. boats these days. Maybe beating a dead horse, but I appreciate the info about different sheet thicknesses. I was WONDERING why some canoes just felt cheap l...
