Might be worth asking around on the Penobscot paddle and chowder society's web page as well. Bunch of real good folks and some good open boaters among them!

What is a broken boat worth?
I'm curious what you all think a broken boat is worth, as opinions on the subject seem to vary wildly. Assuming the boat is in a condition that it could be repaired (or IS repaired) with a weld or some glass and epoxy, what would you call a fair price? I've seen people asking upwards of 500 bucks fo...

Re: Stohlquist FreeRyde gasket replacement
Maybe I'll give Stohlquist a call. I contacted them about replacing it with another neoprene gasket, but it was such a pain I really don't want another. It was dry, but I think if it was any looser, while I would no longer feel like I was going to black out, it would let in too much water when playb...

Stohlquist FreeRyde gasket replacement
Has anyone had one of these drytops and replaced the extremely tight neoprene neck gasket with a normal latex one?
My neck gasket ripped after running a bumpy drop on my head and I'd rather not put another gasket in that makes me lightheaded.

Re: Looking for advice on quality, durable flat blade ww pad
At this point, I doubt you're going to find a high-end flat blade from anyone but Werner (Nahantala) or RiverStyx... On the other hand, there's a reason for that. Really? What's the reason? Nobody wants them? I actually have a Clinch River with a flat blade that I enjoy quite a bit. I like it for e...

Re: Palm Amp PFD
Out of curiosity, what type of PFD were you using when you had it release? And did the buckle pop open or did the webbing slip through the metal buckle/cam buckle?

Re: A serious question...
For all the paddlers who come from a kayaking background... What stops you going back? Basically, I don't have a kayak or kayak paddle anymore. As far as kayaks go, I've only paddled playboats (why I got into OC1. Those things are slow!!) but a creek boat is appealing. I'm not saying I would go to ...

Re: A little bit of the West Branch
Yeah..good stuff Anthony, but as far as the video editing goes...the "in-vogue" muzak doesn't hold water to the natural outdoors...;-). Believe it or not, that was the ONLY song on the computer I used to edit the video. I realized that after the editing was done and I was ready to add some tunes, s...

Re: A little bit of the West Branch
It may be hard to tell from the video, but he needs no PA. Plug your computer into some huge 5.1 surround sound, crank it up, and then watch the video. That will give a better feel for his actual volume levels. But I like the idea of having him announce the Tellico race! Maybe I can talk him into it.

Wow. Think I've said it before, but I can't imagine a boat rolling easier than an Option.Creeker wrote:I think the Phiend Prototype has the edge on roll over the Option.
