I would think as far as saftey goes the nod it to the C-boat. Even with a (yuck) skirt on you are less likely to get legs pinned or trapped inside the boat. The Taurea is a fantastic creeking boat, along with it are the fly boats. Small, manuverable, and easy to get in and out of. We used to be able...

Steve sorry no water and had to tile the kitchen. woooo weee what a fun weekend. And yea I do believe that a canoe ought to have wood on it somewhere and a big hole it the top. Taking water and dealing with the water you have taken is part of the game, and I don't like the idea of the rim on the Tau...

Esquif should be applauded and their merchandise should be purchased. They are the only north american company that is currently exploring new designs in open boats. Bell, Evergreen, and Mad River at least are still making WW boats. I do wish they would support the community as well as Esquif has in...

I have a torrent and it is a fun toy. As far as real kayaks I don't fit. I am 6'7" with size 15 feet. I have been stuffed into the biggest of kayaks and that is the definition of true pain boating. I have tried a bunch of the Esquid boats and there are a couple I find fun. You seem a little sensitiv...

No wonder canoes are not profitable
Not that I am one to speak, paddling most likely one of the oldest designs in this group, but dam. We as canoeists seem to patch, repair, cut, weld, recreate boats with abandon. The boating companies only need to put out a new line of boats every 10 years. We will then repair, rebuild, remake the bo...

I just mounted my pump behind the MY ped and in front of the rear block that the other end of the foot peg rail is attached to. There is enough room to mount 2 pumps (with minor modification between the aluminum rails). I dug out a void in the ped for the battery. Mount the outlet as near the pump a...

Just saw your post. That is a fun river and a great group of paddlers. I posted some of the photos from that day on the MWA message board. I should be back through in a couple of weeks. Hope the water on the St. Francis is still there.
Let me know if you come to the Southeast.

Dave I have had an ME and an Outrage X. Sold both and now have bought another ME. I wouldn't buy another Outrage X. As far as the vertige goes I haven't paddled one. The ME is a good boat. It is long, very long by todays standards. It is wet, any drops and it dives to the bottom. It is very forgivin...
