Re: Retirement Boat. Suggestions?

For me, Probe 12 Royalite hands down. I'm just picturing my own octagenarian Dad and what might suit him. It's light, friendly, has soft edges, plenty of flare- dry, stable, easy to paddle, economical, durable. I have one that is now 17 years old. I trusted it enough to stick my 2 year old in front ...

Re: Favourite creeking paddle?

I heard on the river that Echo is out of business. Does anyone know the details on this? I'm hoping it's a viscious rumour.

Ahh. The canoe for the breeding class. Got it. Now if you will excuse me I must groom my pencil thin moustache and polish my monacle.

Re: The Drysuit Evolved - SwimLeft

The more innovation the better- Kudos. This is a long tough road in a crowded marketplace. My advice would be to ensure you broaden your horizons, (unless you've already done so) to sea kayaking, sailboarding, kiteboarding, SUP, etc. WW conoeing and kayaking is just the tippy top of the iceberg. On ...

"Is that a Vdub?"

More like a "Rub-a-dub" (dub 3 men in a tub).

Wow- some really skilled paddlers in this. Of course, I loved seeing the kayakers doing the shoulder popping high braces! Thanks- very entertaining.

Re: Boat(s) of the week --- MASSIVE AIR & DEPARTURE

The Departure 1 was about 10" deep amidships whereas the Departure 2 has that crazy gunwale line. The D1 had huge tumblehome whereas the high sides of the D2 had only about an inch of tumblehome, (drier). The D2 had a lower volume stern and long flat decks. The D1 had 6" decks. The D1 had a comparat...

Re: Boat(s) of the week --- MASSIVE AIR & DEPARTURE

Designed for the days of big canoe enders, cartwheels, split wheels and loops, the Air is the quintessential 'hole boat'. The Departure 2, seen in the post, is a sweet wave cruiser capable of stern squirts. Some interesting facts- The Departure 1 and the Air pushed the limits of OC1 design at the ti...

Re: Just an idea...

I didn't read the snippiness, and I caught the frustration. Hey- as far as this website management thing goes- better you than me! I'm surprised people didn't take to the calendar- so let's hear from people- can we take a poll?

Re: Just an idea...

Right you are on your preference to be paddling. And not being a tech person I have no idea as to the work involved, so I'll throw out this concept with the same lack of awareness- be brutally honest if I'm 'out there'. Is it possible to form the calendar like Wikipedia where anybody can edit it? Th...
