I don't know markzak. I would have a hard time accepting that "plastic just cracks" and that sometimes new boats just crack - especially after I dropped 2 grand on a new boat. If I only had the boat out 7 times and was not boofing every rock in sight, I would demand a little satisfaction...

Here in Colorado I sometimes wear a 3mm NRS farmer john in the summer, when it's too hot for a drysuit but the water is still coooooollld - usually in early July after the main runoff is over. I cut the back of the knees out on mine. With the knees intact, the bunched up neoprene would cause my feet...

Eric,

If you're no longer in the game, then I don't think there are any colorado esquif dealers are there?

Mtn. Shop was the only other one I know of, and they're no longer selling canoes.

Very generous offer of you! I could see doing this if I didn't have other priorities right now (a young kid at home). Taking a whole weekend off to go paddling is not as easy as it used to be. I did however, convince the wife that I can take a week off in July to go paddling around OC Nat timeframe....

I've had troubles rolling the prelude as well. Coming from a phantom which was much easier to roll -- and the phantom likes to hang up on the offside. While my roll is still not definitely bombproof in the lude - I've done several things to my boat that have helped tremendously: 1 foam on the sidewa...

, I have been told I am the only open boater in northern Ontario, so another canoer would be welcome. I don't know if he is a hardcore whitewater canoeist, but Bruce Hyer from Thunder Bay was the first person who got me interested in whitewater canoeing - ironically, by showing it to me and then te...

errr... yeah Wendy, that ain't a problem for me - but I see how it could be for some

Also, good point about river volume- I mostly paddle pretty low volume stuff and I haven't taken any swims yet in high-vol water with the green jacket.

For we larger size folks the side panels and flotation are not adequate in the Green jacket. For under 180 it is a great one as others described First I've heard this. I'm 210 and the green jacket floats me fine. not sure what you mean by the side panels? I like the green jacket, the only thing wro...

Hmmm, I must have had something in my browser cache messing it up.

I went to the link again just now - got the same dead page - hit the F5 button to refresh and now it comes up.

Thanks!

But now after reading the thread, I see that Mohawk is actually selling them.

Bruce,
I think I am up to 8 cracks on the bottom :o I bought a hot-air welder and have been welding it after every trip out. I may need to put a plate on it if I want to keep paddling it.

Also in Colorado, there are two clubs consisting of flatwater and whitewater canoeists you could market to. Poudre Paddlers (poudrepaddlers.org) Rocky Mountain Canoe Club (rockymountaincanoeclub.org) Both clubs hold training events. Also, the RMCC used to hold an annual rendesvouz in July, not sure ...
