Sad thing is even if we sold a canoe to every openboater wect of the Miss. we would not pay for gas It is merely an untapped market. There's a thought, grow your overall whitewater market by marketing to non-canoeists! In the 8 or so years I've been boating in Colorado (OC for all them) - I have ne...

After looking at Cadsters link and entering some dates, it looks like 99 was a high-water year - musta been good snowpack. Looks like AJ is pretty close with 400-600 (although maybe more like 300-600). Whatever the level is, it will be fun - and there will be plenty of other rivers to paddle! I usua...

Gunny gorge

Gunnison gorge is a great canoe run. Here's some pics from labor day 2009 of the nearby Taylor river and Gunnison gorge (starting around page 6-7 - not a lot of shots of the whitewater unfortunately). It's mostly pool-drop class III. The Taylor is also a great run, more continuous in nature. I don't...

My brand spanking new fiberglass aquabound edge broke the very first time I had it on the water. Went over in a rapid, set up to roll, started by hip-snap and craaacckkk! Shaft broke in two pieces. Didn't hit a rock or anything like that, just the force of rolling caused it to break. Obviously it wa...

There will definitely be water "other" water to paddle in CO that time of year. Some of the smaller creeks on the front range might be dried up by then, but the bigger rivers will be running. Runs that will definitely going that are within an couple hour drive: - Poudre - Upper and lower mish, poudr...

Well, the theory is without the jacket on you can get down deeper to catch the water escaping on the bottom - but yeah, then you got no jacket on for the remainder of the swim, so yeah it's definitely a last resort.

I've been using the green jacket for 2 years now and really like it so far. The pullover aspect - Do you find this to be a pro or a con? Can you get it off quickly if you were so compelled? Honestly, I am not sure if I could get it off if I was stuck in a keeper hole - at least without loosening sev...

nice pics Bruce! is that the Numbers? The wife and I topped out on classII+ before she gave up completely. I am very impressed with those that stick with it and can run class III and IV. I also think, as someone mentioned earlier, that it is huge benefit if both paddlers have some solo experience. M...

Very nice!!

I only sorta wanted one before... now I can't wait!

Thanks for posting those pic comparing to the prelude. The l'edge looks like it will be a better boat for us larger framed folks (wider and deeper than the lude).

Ken,

I've got a buddy in Denver looking to get rid of a wavesport godzilla for cheap (250 obo comes with skirt). Although, I have no idea if that would make a good c-1 conversion.

That's what I thought at first - but it's definitely not gorilla glue - way too soft to be that. I also did a test and glued a couple pieces of minicel together with the great stuff and it does work as an adhesive - although not that strong of a bond. It seems to work for this application since it's...

"Great Suff" foam as adhesive

So I developed some cracks in my prelude (only about 40 river days of classIII/IV- yikes!) and I wanted to remove the saddle to see how bad it was on the inside of the boat - plus I needed to take out the saddle to weld the inside. I bought the boat used, although it was in nearly new condition. The...
