Re: Lower Salmon and Snake

'Twas a "Grand" experience, swam Lava- not by choice thou. Our trip was lucky with weather, and all the hot spots for hiking, etc we had to our selves. It was a great 60th B-day present to myself!!! Love the Lower Salmon, we've done it twice (with raft support) once at @3500 cfs, 2nd time @ 7500 cfs...

Re: Sacramento region

Unfortunately, Six Rivers Paddling Club is basically no more-officially. After 25 years, there aren't enough active members left to warrant the ACA insurance dues, etc. etc. The big problem, at least in northern California, is that there isn't any new paddling blood coming in. Our club is suffering ...

Trinity River flows - upagain

Emergency water releases to the Trinity R are coming back up again. From 450cfs increasing 250cfs @ 2 hours until 3400cfs is reached.

Flows are for to cool down the lower Klamath as the ich infection & parasite responsible for the 2002 die-off is back.

Re: Trinity River Labor Day Fest....anyone out west coming?

So Saturday the wind started blowing @10 am, wasn't a fun day, but supposedly Sunday and Monday were delightful. Saturday We had Hayden to ourselves, POST was on the Big Flat run, how was Pigeon Pt.? Really enjoyed the higher flows, and cfs was still up the following weekend, so back we went. No win...

Re: Trinity River Labor Day Fest....anyone out west coming?

Hey, the Hayden to Cedar can be just as fun and challenging depending on attitude and energy. Rocky Ledge at 450 cfs from the dam turns into a class IV for a tandem as the slots are almost too tight to get the boat turned and through. Hawkins Bar is very nice, but with a class III+ take depending on...

we'll be there, and I believe POST from Bay Area will be camping out and doing day trips too

And flows should be 950 cfs out of the dam!!!!!!!

Re: ... 'cause it's all about the water.

Dos Rios on the Eel, multi-day trip class II-III ? Don't forget Hayden - Cedar on the Trinity, a nice solid Class II and at lower flows I'd say "Picket Fence" turns into a class III and yes it is raining today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And someone once told me that one can turn even a II- run into a class III...

Re: Lower Salmon trip

You'll love it! :D few side creeks for water, and commercial groups send out someone to snag campsites on the Snake - I've been told and agree. Lower Salmon trip

Needless to say, Milkman got me motivated! http://youtu.be/nz6zIVkEjB8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This summer's adventure was the Lower Salmon River with an interesting collection of craft. Whitebird was running about 3500 CFS, about half of the flow our previous trip. For the wo...

Re: Canoeing the Middle Fork and Main Salmon

Milkman,

Enjoyed your YouTube video!

When I get around to it I hope to put together a little write up and video of our trip on the Lower Salmon mid-August. It was a wonderful mixture of paddling craft: one Dagger Dimension, one of Mohawk xl- 12 (I think), one IK, one raft, one wooden dory.
