Re: Questions concerning new L'Edges manufactured by Liquidl
I'm sure there are some that can answer this better than I but I do believe some of the answers are easily answered: -There is only one mold for the L'Edge, therefore all current manufacture L'Edeges are being molded by LL. -I have been told that at lest some of the boats are being finished and outf...

Re: Fastest Coleman Canoe
The real answer is likely a RamX 17. Pull in the gunwales, maybe shave some depth out of the midsection and she'll go as fast as a Colman can. Well, I guess I've been in one faster. Dad had a Jonsered self contained 3hp outboard that we strapped onto a side mount on our RamX 17. Scary, yes. Fast, ye...

Re: Covert 9.3 in the NE
All of the Siverbirch canoes appear to be Triple Dump PE. For any not familiar with this process, it is a variation on standard rotomolding where instead of making a single "dump" of plastic beads into the heated mold, there are three, an initial dump for the outer skin, a 2nd dump that gennerally h...

Re: Gearing up
Johhead, where are you located? My suggestion would be to find other WW open boaters or even kayakers who live or paddle near you. We all accumulate extra gear and frequently are eager to loan out said gear to newbies not sure what they want. Also, this sport is most easily learned in a mentorship t...

Re: Just moved to PA need folks to paddle with
Hello Dan and Welcome to PA!!! I live some distance from you in the State College area but I know for a fact that there are some great WW OC paddlers in your end of the state. The Toh is close to you and you will meet some open boaters there in March for sure. As things stand there is not as much go...

I have too many fond memory's, or the lack of memory's in some cases, using the red can Weldwood to recommend anything else. Good stuff.

Re: Question for Blackfly Option Owners
As someone that drifts between 215 lbs and 250 lbs, here are my thoughts. I paddled an option for several years and the design is viable for big guys, even at 245lbs it's useable, but very wet and lacking much of the performance that it has with more patete operators. I found myself running a lot of...

Re: AB edge breakdown?
I have an AB 3 piece breakdown and it has seen enough use to have significant blade wear. It's for sure a good backup and the price point is right too. No hesitation I'd buy one again.

Re: What are some airbags that fit an Octane 91
Just an aside for posterity, HazardHarry used 72"x48" Bigfoot Bags, I just used 48"x48" Bigfoot bags and they fill things in nicely in an Octane 91. Fall Line bags are a better fit but the 48"x48" bigfoot bags are at least as good as any normal airbag and I paid $26 for 7 of them on ebay. Saving my ...

Re: Open boat for a bigger paddler
I might also add that while they do not look so canoey, he should if possible at least try paddling an Octane 91 before dismissing them entirely. They at least feel canoey when you are padding them
