Thanks for the link Mike, that wave looks like a blast. I have a regular EZ C1 and at 175# I feel like I'm too big for it, and it is the slowest boat I have ever paddled. Some kayaker friends my size say the same thing about the EZ but love their Big EZ's. I think I'll keep an eye out for the larger...

Wave Sport Ace as C1?

Has anyone here done an Ace conversion? There are a lot of different conversions listed in the poll below about boats owned but if there was an Ace I overlooked it. It looks to have all the right things to be a C1, wide flat hull, large cockpit, and best of all they can be found cheap. Any thoughts?

Perception Slasher

I saw an ad for this boat for sale on the MWA message board. I believe it is a boat I sold a few years ago and was like new then. Yellow with stock saddle. $250 with skirt. Contact info:

Surprised? I was shocked! Not that the ME was faster but that "I" could get a 15'- 31" beam boat (that I maybe paddled twice a year) through the gates just as clean as an 11' boat (that I paddled every week). I introduced my Grandson to whitewater in this boat, who knows maybe I can do it with a gre...

My wife and I have owned an ME for about 10 years. It is set up with one of Frankies triple saddles. It doesn't see a lot of use but it works fine for us when we do use it. The Ocoee is probably the biggest river we have paddled tandem. My Grandson has used it with me since he was five on the Nanny ...

Riverken, You want to set the angle of the bulkhead/kneeblocks to get the most contact with your thighs as possible. Look at the picture in the Foam Bulkhead Outfitting thread. This may require trimming or adding foam on the bottom to get it right. Don't be afraid to cut it as you can always glue it...

Martin, I agree that it does not lower the height of the saddle. I have put together 4 Preludes for myself and friends and on all 4 the saddle ends were tall enough to push the bottom of the hull out noticably. By trimming the ends the hull would relaxe and still have compression on it, though that ...

If you are using the stock saddle the overall height is such that it pushes the bottom of the boat out round. Cut 1/2" off each end where it mounts under the thwart and this will let it flatten out and give more initial stability.

I would vote for the Edge just because when I was a greenhorn convert from K1 to OC1 whenever I would run into Frankie he would always invite me to paddle with him and the other homeys. To a boy from Missouri I felt that was an honor. Though I am not a slalom racer His boats have always served me we...

My boats are stored in my basement, but most of our local paddling here in Missouri is in the winter and early spring so when staying at the river they see plenty of freezing temps. That being said I have never loosened the screws on wood gunnels, if anything I make sure they are tight and I have no...

The Prelude is a skeeter if you cut the bottom off the skeeter and add sides. Trust me.[/quote] I wish they would do that to the Spanish Fly Kevin, I have also cut the foam to get my knees as far apart as possible and have a 3" hole thru the saddle for water to transfer. I tried to order the outboar...

Grinner, you will find a Prelude is very similar to a skeeter in handleing but is much dryer. The downside is they are expensive and while they come with outfitting it is not easy to install and get it right. I can't imagine the bulkhead fitting anybody as it comes. You want to be sure to get full c...
