Ammonds, Kesselheim and capturing the spirit...
I looked at Ammonds' stuff and immediately loved it. I've heard of people finding spirituality/a state of mind on the water and somewhat experienced this myself. I don't want to get too radical and get labeled a freak, but I've had this theory that we get an 'energy' from the water. Maybe it's adren...

Thanks
It's not surprising that there are hundreds of books dedicated to paddling. I don't think you could nail it all down in one book! Thanks for all your replies. I've heard of a few of your favorites and even own Thrill of the Paddle. That book opened up some doors for me! In about three weeks I'll be ...

Favorite Authors on the subject of paddling
In January, three days after the pinnacle of my paddling career thus far, I was severely injured in an auto-accident. (9.6 miles of Shade Creek was my favorite paddling experience to date, by the way.) Since the accident I've taken it upon myself to live vicariously through books and my fellow paddl...

ANy one of those!!
At this point, I'd love to have any one of those. I'm down my OC-1 and have nothing to paddle this season. But as soon as I sell enough of my belongings on craigslist, I will be making a WTB post on here. I already have a lengthy list of possibilities. Now, for my vote....the Raven...solely ba...

Price Check/ Mad River ME...what would you do?
I have a damaged Mad River ME that is in otherwise beautiful condition. I was in an auto accident this past January and unfortunately my boat received three cracks and a fist-sized puncture. I was going to fix it myself but decided to just sell it as is and save for something smaller/more modern. So...

Prophet seeker
My e-mail is jatakasawa@yahoo.com for anyone who wants to sell their Prophet. My ME has been widened in the center which has created extreme rocker....that's why I think I'll enjoy the Prophet. That ability to spin on a dime is what I'm looking for. I'm just looking to "graduate" to a smaller boat t...

I'd be willing to look into the prophet. I read a review on Paddling.net that stated the Prophet was similar to the Mad River ME but shorter. I own an ME and have done way technical whitewater in that massive boat....so if the statement above is true, I'd love to paddle an 11' Prophet. Get me a pric...
