Re: Dagger Caper vs. Encore

I have a caper and 2 encores (not my first), and once spent 2.5 weeks in a caption on Snake River, Yukon. I'm 5'9", 175, own and have paddled a variety of solo boats (mostly encores and vipers), currently challenged by first ocoee. ...

Re: Dagger Caper vs. Encore

... Most will call the Encore fast and plenty dry enough for those who are <200 pounds...it does not spin especially well. I can't imagine wanting a Caper, if one had access to an Encore and Caption. Roy

Re: Dagger Caper vs. Encore

I have not paddled any of them much but know people who have. The Encore would be dryer than a Caper. A caption should be similar in dryness but faster than either of the others. A Caption will also make a good tandem and the others not so much

I'm also considering a Caption, so if anyone wants to weigh in on Caper vs Encore vs Caption, I'd appreciate it.

Dagger Caper vs. Encore

Hello, there. My main question concerning these two boats regards dryness. I've had the Caper for about a year and have had a lot of fun in it. I can aggressively go for big holes and it only takes on a minimal amount of water. My only complaint about it is the weight. ...

Re: OC-1 with seat

The Vertige, no x, might also be an option. It's easy to install a regular canoe seat hanging from the gunwales, and knee cups, straps, etc…That would work well in CII.

Of course there are other possible boats:
caper
genesis
H2 pro
piranha
probe 14
xl series such as XL 14 or 15

Re: Open boat for a bigger paddler

Bell Prodigy X, Esquif Vertige X, Mad River Outrage X, Dagger Caper, Dagger/Mad River Caption, Dagger Genesis, Mad River ME, Mohawk XL 13, Mohawk XL 14 are all traditional appearing canoes that have been considered good for a larger paddler. The Dagger ...

That Caper is such a sweet boat, great price, too. Back east that wouldn't last a week online for $500. My ww partner is back east, so I'm gonna pass.

Re: converting rafter

... I can appreciate the extra challenge of running dry lines, don't want to feel like im sneaking past everything tho. A solo outfitted dagger caper has appeared for sale nearby. Are all capers about 14' or did they come in different lengths? and anyone who is familiar with the caper, how is ...

We have them in a caper I believe they saved my brothers fiance's life. We were paddling, I in the stern, she in the bow, and she had a seizure. they kept her from falling out of the boat. thankfully we were in slightly moving water ...

Re: Blink impressions

... just been a result of my inexperience with the boat, but for me the boat seemed to have as much momentum as if I was paddling a tandem boat like a Caper or Caption solo. I liked the Option quite a bit better. It would seem to "snap" into eddies in a way that I couldn't make the heavy L'Edge do. ...

... Pyranha. If you want to consider a more serious whitewater big boat that is also versatile, see if you can find a Caption or even the older Caper. Not to muddy the waters for you, but I guess I did.

Hydra Duet C2 for sale in Portland, Oregon

... C2 that can be used for general river running (being plastic). Its footprint in the water is dimensionally similar to a Dagger Caption or Caper, but it has a bit less rocker. Its stable, easy to paddle and fast. Being plastic and a C2 makes it a pretty unique boat. Its in good condition, ...
