The Ranger talks about registration. Are there costs associated with running these rivers? What are your laws about trespass and property ownership along the river? Are you allowed to touch the river bed?

If I don't keep the motor in the bow fed, it runs out of power and gets VERY grumpy! There is no option here.

When you do these day trips is the practice to carry and stop for a shore lunch? How long are you usually on the water for?

I can scare the crap out of me/us here in Ontario. There is lots of stuff we don't / won't do.
Looking to have an pleasant time and enjoy the rivers / people / atmosphere, and be able to continue to paddle during the summer, rather than recuperating from some stupid injury!

Where are you located?

It might be a Canadian thing, but I just used a chunk of shaft from a broken hockey stick. A little sanding and it looks fine.

I havn't tried it, but I understand that Lego is made from ABS (and is coloured) Steal some for a kid and it may allow you to colour match the outside of your boat. I have seen the black ABS trick done on a few boats, and it's not pretty.
