I'm signed up to be on the course construction crew, hoping they will let me be there the whole week.

Re: Riversport Slalom August 17-18
Less than 30 days! Get your entries in and let's see if we can have C boats outnumber the kayaks!
We are still in need of another volunteer or 2 to work safety and help control rec traffic on race day. Good river karma cannot be bought!
Thanks!
Jim

Re: Riversport Slalom August 17-18
Scott - That is fantastic, thanks! We look forward to seeing you there. Gates - That would be great to be able to keep them up, but our permit from the park, permission from the DCNR, Papal dispensation, etc is just for the race. I would hazard a guess that anyone wanting to keep gates up for an ext...

Re: Poll - potential for new regional canoe event
I love the ideer, but August is a tough month for this house with the Riversport Slalom usually the third weekend (and the requisite 4-5 days away from home it takes to pull that race off).

Re: Playing in Slalom Boats in Charlotte
I lack both the skills and the stones to play at Charlotte, that and I still can't get used to artificial courses and single pole gates...Oh and I have Tad's old Loco, seems the darn boat didn't learn anything from him because when I paddle it - it goes slow...
Excellent video.

Re: Which slalom boat??
I'm 6-0, 210 and am at the top of the range for my Loco, but that design (or the more recent Robin Bell design Scorcho) would work out ok for you IMHO. I've been way overweight for boat designs many times over my simple citizen racer career and it's never been a real problem, although I once had a N...

Re: KNeals / NBoP / CBoats Armada... whatever you call it...
We're not all big water boaters, so someplace that has something for most skill levels would be cool. Slippery Rock has camping but as has been said, the river would be crowded (I cut my teeth there so I love the place). Stoney has that little play park thingie doesn't it? Good for cquirt? How about...

Re: How 'bout cboat Armada dates?
Adam - #1 - please don't call it the Slip...I'd rather hear nails on a chalkboard combined with gum cracking, open mouthed popcorn eating and a bagpiper caught in a woodchipper than to hear the Slippery Rock called the Slip... #2 - that would be awesome to have the Armada right in my (and a f...
