Wendy,
Glad to hear you like the boat. Amazing as to how many more styles we have available in such a short period of time (thanks Craig, Jeremy et al.).
As for us mere mortals; how did you find the boat for 360's etc?
Geoff

tandem basics
Paul,
I think that's the first time I've ever seen you swim.
Thanks for the videos, your instruction is always appreciated.

the tread of the Palm booties looks the same as a pair of booties I recently bought from MEC (Mountain Equipment Coop).
I found the soles to be as slippery as sh*t.
My recommendation would be the Brooks booties.
Hope this helps.

My vote is for staying upright first.
Tuck if you mess-up.

righting pry
the "righting pry" works really well, but takes a ton of practice to get the movement instinctive. i've a great video clip of one in action at the bottom of a waterfall, but unfortunately don't know how to load it. paul and mark's book "thrill of the paddle" has a very good description of how to pul...

Nitro conversion
I have an old Nitro that isn't seeing much water these days, and am thinking about converting into a tandem for my 7 year old son and I. I have a couple of questions on this conversion and am looking for some saged advice; i) with me at 200 lbs, and my son at 50 lbs, I think the boat can easily hand...

ALF attendance
Colin, Thanks again for compiling and maintaining this list. Unfortunately I do not have enough "points" left over after my Mexico trip and the cost to buy extra points is excessive (sounds like Aeroplan). Subsequently, I won't be able to make ALF this year. Have a great time, and do a run of Baby F...

PE durability
they'll both crack if you hit the rocks right. i've seen paddlers do rock 360's at every available opportunity all the way down the river in an SFly, while a Prelude was being gingerly handled and split on the first rock it hit. river gods at work. they're both great boats - depends on what you how ...

Mexico trip
Yarnell; Heather was great. Got beat up on a couple of drops but came up smiling every time. She was embarassingly fluid in her boat. The very opposite of my body-check the rocks style of paddling. She spoke highly of her western paddling friends and I look forward to meeting you guys when I head ou...

Esprit's Mexico trip
Here's a shameless plug for Esprit's Mexico trip. I just came back from a week of paddling with Jim, his crew and the incredible Eli Hebert. It was truly an amazing trip and I consider myself lucky to have gone. Jim is an awesome host and his staff treat you like royalty. Do yourself a favour and ge...

paddling with Eli
Craig,
Eli changed his trip to Mexico once he found out I was heading down - LOL.
Actually, I really excited about seeing him paddle again.
Only 11 more sleeps until I leave; YAHOO!

Has anyone been able to cartwheel a L'Edge as yet (aside from Dooley)? Lots of slam'n the SFly in this post, but in my humble opinion they are 2 very different boats, even if the L'Edge is based on the SFly hull. I have more than one saw in my tool-shed. If you want to grow the sport - buy both boat...

ESP; lmao!!
Yukon; I share your concern. Ever notice the further south you go the smaller and more dangerous the critters get.
Happy scouting!!
