We've done 5 or 6 trips to the Nanty this year, probably pulling off another either late October or early November. I'm a runner, but I'm the only one in our little group that has that affliction. You can e-mail me at jscottl67@yahoo.com if you like. I have a 2 y.o. daughter so I don't get out as mu...

Not a problem at all, definitely not an elitist when it comes to paddling. I'm on my first WW OC-1, though I've paddled a friends a few times as well. I paddled a 16' tandem for about 5 years, and I've carried it down the Haw many times before getting a pure WW boat. It's definitely an addiction. :l...

We paddle on the Haw pretty frequently when there is water, will definitely try to meet you there. We did the Nanty Fri. and Sat. and the Tuck. on Sunday before the long drive home.

Good deal :D Pattons always seems tougher to me than the falls because there really is no warm up, just straight into the fun stuff :o . Some friends and I were paddling OCs on the Nanty on Friday and Saturday and had a great time. :) You do know that you can go to the NOC website and check your pho...

Great pics., Mike. At my height and weight, I think I would need a little something extra to paddle your boats...scuba gear. :)

I'm pretty new to whitewater in OC-1. I've paddled a tandem for several years on everything from dead flat water, to twisting and turning through the maze on the Haw in it. Though I paddled a friends OC-1 a few times before getting my own, and tried out a Cascade for a brief time, I'm on my first OC...

The title of the show should have given it away..."stunt" is what it was all about. You can't really compare it to what paddling is about anymore than you can compare some kid on a BMX bike on a half pipe to Lance Armstrong kicking but on the Tour. That doesn't take away from what he does. I haven't...

I believe that saddle is intended for OC-1, not a decked boat. I've always liked the looks of that saddle, but friends have steered me away from "solid" restraints in case of a pin. There is no release on a system like that as you would have with thigh straps. I'm sure there are people that would ar...

On my Cascade, I have a line through the minicell braces running the length of the boat, pretty much where they line up on their own when inflated. One line for the two in front, one for the two in the rear. I can untie them if I want to take them out, but they pretty much stay in there all the time...

I certainly don't know every boat out there, but a friend has an old Dagger Genesis. I'm sure you could take pictures from it. I thinky you can do jumping jacks, take a nap, cook lunch, knit a sweater, write a novel, or do things that might get you arrested in most of the lower 48 states in it....al...

A lot of views, but no responses :) Guess we are all fearful of the gods of c-boating pain.

Some hideous left knee pain is forcing me to modify outfitting, and I'm even contemplating raising the pedestal 3/4" to make it more tolerable. :o :(

Thwart/brace behind pedestal?

I picked up a Dagger Ocoee a few months back and I'm getting a lot more comfortable in the boat now and starting to make a few outfitting changes. As background, the boat has wood gunnels, the ends are cut 4" and the boat is pinched 2". There are 3 thwarts in the boat, the first 2 right where you wo...

I'll be heading up early in the week, paddling Friday through Sunday AM before heading home. Some of the guys I'm going with will be there until Monday. Taking the Ocoee and the Cascade.
