Louie, Esprit; I was so close to paddling in Mexico last winter-'07-'08, (due to the Cboat postings) yet my time-off did not coincide with the Esprit dates... so I waited and went to ALF-09. The hombres I met in Lenoir City were less than reputable yet were agreeable to my Yankee a$$ and I plan to r...

Very difficult since the hull holds the outfitting... would be like putting the egg back into the shell.

Why would Esquif not outfit the boat?

I've been told the reason why cold cracks occur is because of the expansion/contraction rates of the three different materials: stainless steel screws, royalex and wood gunnels. I've also seen cold cracks in person (not my beloved canoes!) and the cracks severely weaken the canoe and can only repair...

Oci-One,

Check out the Hemlock Canoe Works SRT. Dave Curtis is a master of composite construction and the canoe's designer knows a bit about moving/whitewater hull dimensions as well.

Carry on,

C'mon Colin!

I met you at the gauge for Daddy's and on the Tellico at ALF '08... would be great so see you before the leaves drop.

I need photographic evidence of my existence on the Hudson and you're the only one capable of the task!

Carpe Canadian!

Great river description Adam! Nice to have as much paddling time on the river compared to the drive to the river. More enjoyable too! I will be paddling an Ocoee and can bring a Wheelboy and two Viper C1s for Sunday. The Vipers are different cuts and may accommodate a couple of other Cboaters. The f...

I will be joining the Armada and arriving early Friday afternoon. Let me know if I can help-out in any manner. Where are all of the southern and western cboater brethren on this trip? Some of you southern folk haven't paddled north of the Mason and Dixon... c'mon up! I am wondering if cooler temps a...

Hi Bob, My '03, Dagger Caption with vinyl gunnels has the factory bow thwarts 49" from the bow deck and 48" from the stern deck. Tension the tape on the deck and swing it to the correct distance. My Caption is set up as solo whitewater tripper... I have no measurements for tandem whitewater play loc...

What sort of digital waterproof cameras are you folks paddling with? Price, ease of use, reliability, blah, blah, blah...

Check out www.tsa.gov. I would check the paddle as cargo... leaving it at the counter is not an option.
