... (glassy shine) then lay off the heat in that area. Take your time - and it will take some time - and have a vision of what you want. For my xxx the deck and hull were concaved, in both the bow and stern, along with dropping the overall volume. I'll suggest that you try not to modify the ...

XXX outfitting

PAC, Jim, Thank you for bringing your boats to the Armada. I appreciate the effort and will try to make it worth your while. Nice pictures Jim! That is some first class outfitting and looks ultra comfey. One question though, how are your feet resting on the bottom of the boat? Splayed in or out or f...

XXX thigh braces

From your picture it looks like the score and XXX may have the same system. Both have the adjustable bolt hole tabs. For kayakers Wavesport has the best outfitting on the market in my opinion. I'll try to get a pic of the stock thigh braces in the XXX and post it. Jim

What do the thigh braces in the XXX look like? Scores had a different set up, maybe a later design? I took some pictures of a conversion that Jamie D'Ors (sp?) set up that made use of the thigh brace connection points :

thigh braces

... kind of average build - 170 and 5'11''. Guys with really stocky legs probably would not be able to use the thigh braces.I'm thinking of getting a XXX (which I'll get a butt kicking in). The thigh braces are quite a different design, much better for kayakers, but I'm not sure if they will work ...

Jim that's a very nice and clean set up! I look forward to checking it out more closely for future conversion considerations. I'll have my xxx there at the Armada as well and will see if I can get Big Al to bring his Foreplay to compare against it. Foreplay is more forgiving at the upper weight ...

I have a XXX C-1

I have a XXX C-1 as well as a Forplay C-1 and an X C-1. The XXX was good for park and play or class II-III for me at 175, when I got up to 185-190 I had to stop paddling it for a while. I would consider an ideal weight range for ...

Yeah, it was kinda funny watching the mixed feelings on homey's face when his wife was getting worked in her brand new XXX. He didn't exactly want her to not like her new boat, but he was chompin at the bit to convert it to a c-1. Boat design can be a tricky thing. He looked way smoother ...

Re: XXX

Jim, I would be interested in seeing your outfitting. Google has a good photo album as well called Picasa if you have a gmail account. huge Picasa offers 1 GB of storage now, as my father-in-law would say "free for nothin'". G-Mail allows nearly 3 GB storatge for free. I think you need an "invite" ...

XXX

PAC, If you have space do bring your XXX. But I don't want you to bump a more fun boat off the rack just to bring it. Sounds like at 185 I will find the boat will convert well to C1 for my purposes. Jim, I would be interested in seeing your ...

Based on my one full day of paddling a converted XXX, 170 lbs would seem to be an upper limit for anything beyond park and play. But, the outfitting was pretty heavy. Jim Norton may be able to post pics of his super clean, very light X conversion. ...

Dale I have that boat now...via Will..... minus a 3rd of the volume! Old boats never die they just get recycled. LOL Its still a hoot and does everything you said. Its one of the "old" boats I own that gets out every so often because its that much fun! With less volume its even more fun... in a twis...
