There is a problem (although a small one to paddlers) with drying rope, if you have a spectra line they do degrade badly (compared to plain nylon) under uv , but I doubt it would effect us as badly as climbers. I used to use a simple rule when abseiling off tat, clip the cheap faded nylon tape rathe...

It's a good way of checking the rope properly, when you stuff it back in , take your time and feel for any cuts or damage.

Just got back from Slovenia butt boating, very nice it was too :P At one of the get outs (Prijon shop) a kindly fellow noticed me drooling over his blue Prelude with my paddling buddy and offered me a go, I was pretty knackered but he had his kit out before I spluttered my excuses (it's been a long ...

Thanks for the input guys, I'm based in south east London (don't seem to be able to update my profile). There's no denying that I prefer the classic(ish) shape of the 'full volume' boats, they have evolved the shape for a reason. The lack of available PE boats in this style has been a problem for ye...

Thanks for all the info, would have thought that there would have been more of a difference what with the Taureau being designed as a creeker and all. Thanks for the offer of trying to sort out a demo Bob, I have seen the Force OC1 talked about in various places and seen photo's but thought the proj...

Taureau vs Fly

Hello all, I'm looking for my first OC1, mostly for running our small rivers and ditches on this side of the pond with butt boaters. I've paddled spanish and super flys and like the maneuverability that the shorter boat gives but at 105kgs I do find them a bit wet and slow going once full to the gil...

Having looked about for footwear for paddling for a while as my normal wetsuit boots are getting thin and painful to walk in (they have done well so no complaints) I'm heading towards these http://www.palmequipmenteurope.com/gear/granite.html , good close fit round the foot, nothing to catch, and a ...
