I have Hickory on my OCA and it works just fine. If you are storing your boat outside, I would not put wood gunwhales on it at all. I just finished a cedar strip canoe and had the same problem finding anything over 12' in ash so I scarfed and the results turned out very nice. I did my scarf joint pr...

New Whitewater Boat ( may be repost)

So, Wenonah Has enterd into the whitewater market in a little bigger way with their new offering The Recon. May not prove to be a hard core creeker, but at least it is another company that is recognizing that Openboating whitewater is still a viable market. http://wenonah.com/products/template/produ...

Todd, NOC use to do one, although it was not a certification class.
It was pretty intense I thought at the time (15-17 years ago), maybe a 3 day class.

surf C1?

Craig, maybe y'all might consider desigining a surf oC1? Something simalar to a dedicated surf Kayak, so we could have a oc1 that that we could take to the beach with us when we can't go to the river. Might be nice to have that in the quiver.

stinkeye

Mikey,
Do you have line drawings for the stinkeye? You might consider just selling those. I am looking to build a playboat, but there are no designs I can find out there. Let me know if you have plans and i will buy some from you.

Richard, how difficult would it br to add about 2 inches height to the bow and stern of the Rodeo? It seemslike that would make it a drier boat, thus making it better fr creeking and big water. How does the stability compare to a Viper 11? I looked real hard at the Rodeo prior to buying my Viper 11.

why not take the boat, your wife and a buddy to the lake, get your saddles the distance you want them apart, you and your wife get in the boat and have your buddy tell you when the boat is trim. You would adjust it by sliding your saddles forward or backward. Once trim mark the saddle locations with...
