Re: Nor cal open boaters? Resources??

This thread is interestingly timely for me. I live just down the road in Chico. Once upon a time, I was a fairly decent open boater by California standards - did most of the runs that have been mentioned here back in the 90s, also the Colorado and a few other interesting things - but several years ...

wanted: scat packer lid

Lost the lid to my scat Packer toilet system on the way home from the Lower Salmon, and wondering if anybody has an extra one lying around that needs a new home. This system is no longer being manufactured-unfortunately.

Thanks

Re: Nor cal open boaters? Resources??

Six Rivers Paddling Club will paddle up to class III runs. I.e.: Pigeon Point, on the Trinity River, and the Happy Camp run on the Klamath as examples. Were not as active as we used to be unfortunately. and in Redding, check out Shasta paddlers, I think they have a Yahoo website.

Re: 1997 versus 2002 Dagger Royalex

Milkman, We have three Dimensions, the first one was bought in, and is a 1991 hull, number two (bought used to us, but hadn't been used in 2004) 1989 hull, and the newest one is a 1998 hull. All three had a light gray vinyl on the interior. The 1989 and 1991 is a much heavier layup, and the vinyl gu...

Re: Almost straightened out

Smokers falls, Trinity River Bellow, this is the first time these two have ever paddled together, the guy in the bow normally paddle stern. This was about two years ago I think. If I did this correctly, this is a YouTube link for the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=DL...

Re: Lower Salmon query

Marc, After rereading my post on , I think it came across as being snippy. I didn't mean it that way. Thank you again so much for the information you gave me regarding summertime flows on the Lower Salmon. The only concerns regarding our group this coming summer, is the dory. When we did this run in...

Re: Lower Salmon query

Guys, As hard as it may be to believe, our group is focusing on the Lower Salmon this summer. Over the years, we've been able to pick up 2 canceled Middle Fork permits-1994 and in 2007, the flows were below 2 feet both times. And we launched from Boundary Creek both times too. We also have been fort...

Lower Salmon query

Hi everybody! It's that time of the year to start thinking about summer destination and planning. Looks like I'm headed for the Lower Salmon second week of August, and have some basic questions regarding flows. Of course, much depends upon snowpack, but do the major drops change character much as fl...

Re: Life expectancy of a drysuit

My first Kokate Gore-Tex dry suit lasted approximately 7 to 8 years , I don't remember, user days but lots. It was first generation, bought in 1993?, as it had a nylon zipper instead of the metal zipper, and that failed first. Sent it to Kokate to be repaired, but it failed their pressure test and w...

Re: Best kids Canoe?

Boy if you could find an old Mad River Flashback or Fantasy, built perfect for a kid. narrow, low profile, great in water up to 3+. My son started off in on at age 10.

Trinity River flows

They are now releasing 1200 CFS from the dam through the end of September to keep the salmon on the Klamath happy.

As a consequence, Trinity should be a lot more fun!

Almost straightened out

:P Today's project was straightening the gunwale. Better than it was, but not quite perfect, definitely functional
