Colorado

I will be in Colorado (Fraser) next week for a family gathering. I doubt that there will be a chance to get away for any paddling, but I am just curious (and lazy)- what rivers are in that general area and is there much in the way of water this time of year? Our plan at this point is to mostly catch...

I can tell how old something is by the phone number I marked. " Oh yeah, that was back when we lived at......" Of course that pre-dates the age of being able to take your phone # with you when you moved. That gives a clue to how old some of my stuff is!

Mike- the label is to the left of the saddle, about mid-calf. I took photo's of the label and a few of the boat- I just need to figure how to get the photo's on here- I don't spend a lot of time with computer technology! I will also weigh the boat- It seems to me to be a heavier lay-up than the Vipe...

glassboat questions

I am hoping the glass boaters can provide a bit of insight and direction. I recently was fortunate enough to pick up a used Viper C-1. I was working on taking out some worn padding yesterday and uncovered a manufacturers label. Here is what it says: VIPER C-1 Built by Winterport Boat Co. Designed by...

Slight threadjack, and I risk getting ALOT of opinions, but what would you recommned for a decent, reasonably priced dry suit with the booties and relief zipper. When I look at the catalogs I get a bit overwhelmed by the options ( and prices).

Adam- your boat storage looks like Imelda Marcos's shoe closet! That's an impressive collection, and I know is only a part of the total. You should print a catalogue!

I've got to thank T Grips for the post about the Viper- I had actually seen the craigslist posting for the "squirtboat" earlier, and called the number to just check it out, but not really interested in a true squirt boat- I got no response, but then when T-Grips posted that the boat was actually a V...

Looking at the boat counts that many of you have, makes me think that this may address the issue raised in another post about the relatively low numbers of canoeist- it is clear- You all own all the dam boats out there!!!, so the supply is limited because most of them must be collecting dust!...

trip report

So I took half dozen teens and two other Dad's on the New River Gorge this weekend for a raft trip. Ended up going with ACE- they had some extra stuff to keep the guys entertained (lake with all sort of fun stuff to bust your A** on. ) This was my first time in a raft- for the first part of the day ...
