Best to use Ash only. For creeking 5/8's by 5/8's min. for gunwale diameter. It will be tough to turn the radius at the bow..did it come with deck plates? If so , Id use them. . cheers

Ive posted about polypro resin systems (twintex) in another thread I think.. Its not as tough as high quality epoxy, according to the manufacture Saint-Gobain Vetrotex but stronger that vinylester. . It is a pre preg material and like all prepreg's the resin to glass ratio is fixed by and large. Pin...

If its a small area,, it is important to heat form it to the shape your reapir a much as possible with a heat gun. For adhesive Ive used Use 3m structual adhesive with good results.. Don't use Epoxy, it will crack and youll loose your patch. Gotta go, time for another beer. cheers

Personally, I dont think theres a really good C1 for creeking out there (cascade not with standing, but is 11'6" long) . Ive tied a lot of c1 conversions and at 195 lbs , they just dont have the stability needed for class 4+ and up work. I find myself dividing my attention between keeping my balance...

I have never liked bulkheads. Locks my hips up too much. I found I could stay centered over the boat with much more on off/ onlide lean with thigh straps rather than with bulkheads. I also thing it contributes to bad form , at least it did in my case. Instead of generating boat lean by pushing down ...

Hello, I might be of some help.. first, neither design very new.. the ignitor came out in 97 /98 but it is a cab forward desgin.. It is a lot more rounded compared to the Edge.. The Edge is a carver,, It begins its turns sooner, but there is more boat infront of you.. My impression of the ignitor is...

I believe it depends on the thickness of your gunwales.. In my creek layups I like to use 5/8" x 5/8 " and use them year round with out problems. Also if they used wood screws (tapered form tip to end) it can split the wood as it expands and contracts.. Try replaceing them with sheet metal screws th...

Give this a try.. head over to a plastics store and pic up some kydex 1/8th inch plastic. Cut it to a football shape to cover the crack.. it can be heat formed if need be with a heat gun available at most hardware stores. sand an apply 3m structural adhesive to both sides and glue it into place. the...
