Re: c1 Karma outfitting???

I Paddled a lg karma for about 8 months as a C1 . I used the cascade seat pod. I had to carve a little on it but it fit fine. used the front strap to make brackets to hold the seat down. Zero flex in the outfitting . It is totally critical where you sit in the lg karma. +- half an inch i mean. It ma...

Re: critique my strokes

I admire anyone searching for better paddling. So here goes. Pardon my brutality. it all IMHO Its all about boat control. Proper Habits of correct body position and paddle techniques increase control exponentially. Your choked up on the paddle to much. Widen your grip and lean forward more. You dip/...

Re: Jackson Karma Unlimited

Update.
The plastic is softer than I thought . I hauled it in my pickup To the tellico on a warm day , just let it hangout on the tailgate . When I unloaded the boat
It had a dent on the chine from its own weight.
It was still there at the end of the day, but not as
Pronounced.

Re: Mitchell Premier aluminum tip fix tip?

To repair, the idea is to make a "sandwich" of the pieces listed. sand the tip area with 120 grit . wipe with acetone. take a 1 inch strip of carbon fiber cloth and wet it with epoxy. lay it on one side of the tip leaving a little protruding from the edge of the paddle, it can be trimmed later with ...

Re: Jackson Karma Unlimited

Ive been paddling a large Karma c1 for about 6 months. Here is my experience , your results may vary: speed-10 hole punching - 10/ best Ive ever paddled seat position: totally critical, takes time to set it up : note : in the wrong seating position, it will not handle properly .. by seating position...

Re: Canoe for the Grand Canyon

Ive been able to run it 4 times in various OC1s , Sunburst, Madriver Howler, Whitesell, etc. If you can find one the best overall would be a Dagger Encore i think. Enough speed for the flat sections,
but cuts across diagonals well too.

Re: Ovation pedestal placement

Here's what I do for beginner and intermediate paddlers : Get someone to spot form the bank of some calm water about 15 ft form the shore. Lean forward with paddle in hand as if you were about to take a forward stroke and hold that position. Then move forward or back until the spotter indicates an e...
