Robson Finkenmeister

Hello Chuciknaill, It will be difficult to find someone with experience in the two boats you need to have compared to answer the question specifically. I'll take a chance and try to answer the question from a general perspective. A major difference will probably relate to the effective center of gra...

C Boats for Novice Paddler

Do you want to play or run rivers? Do you want a relatively gentle introduction to C boating?

Berrigan Mold

 Hello Kaz,
I had a Berrigan, and I'm not anxious for another one. But it was my first whitewater boat and it brings back good times.

I remember seeing you on the Deerfield and Tohickon when I boated back East. I miss the C1/OC1 company out here in California.

SYOTR,

Robson Finkenmeister

:D Thanks Martin and Markus for a valuable review. This boat is sounding better. At 155lbs I'm a little concerned about the 'bobbing like a cork' description, but am encouraged by the way the boat reportedly handled on the Rissbachklamm with the two lighter boaters. I'm going to try and locate a dis...

Robson Finkenmeister

Sir Adam, I am very interested in learning more about this boat. Please keep me posted on this. I could be interested in a group buy. Need to know about primary and secondary stability, hull design etc. I also contacted the Robson distirbutor directly. I'm a little concerned about what appears to be...

Robson Finkenmeister

:D I just got a look at the Finkenmeister and it looks terrific for starters. 9'2" is short enough to handle all but the tightest of creeks. The boat has a relatively wide stance and has a wide cockpit to improve stability and enhance control. In other words, it was designed from the ground up to be...

Robson Finkenmeister

Don Williams mentioned the Robson Finkenmeister in the topic 'Looking for a GOOD C1 for Creeking'. He gave the dimensions of the boat (Length 9'2", Width 28.75", Volume 74 gal, Weight 42 lbs, cockpit 23 x 22") and they sound good to me! Imagine that - a boat designed as a C1, not converted, not modi...

Looking for a GOOD C1 for Creeking

:) A recommendation is requested for a kayak that would make a good C1 conversion for creeking. I've paddled a Cascade in the past, and liked it, but needed to find a shorter creek boat (the Cascade is 11 feet long). So I have been using a Perception Stikine for the past two years out here in Califo...
