Green Race and Weekend

I am going to be shooting the race and want to know how many open boaters are going to be running the race? I am also planning on camping out saturday night and paddling the Upper on sunday. Any takers? It is a fun run.

ME, I love my Viper 12 but toss in the ability to paddle tandem and trip, as well as excellent WW ability I go with the ME.

Sounds like you have had a Detonator, how is it on a long stretch of flat water? not moving flat water, just still water? The Viper/Ocoee tracks pretty well. I think the Viper is a tad faster than the Ocoee.

Viper 11 Similar in design to the Ocoee, better build quality, (the bell Ocoees I have seen have pretty much sucked. Better all around boat than the Detonator. And a far better price than either of the others.

I had a boat the had the vynal layer seperate after just a few runs. My previous post was not to say that the OP was winey, I just want to know what people think is reasonable. I am of the mind that you should be able to get between 150 and 200 runs out of a boat before it is a planter. That is arou...

How many strong river days do you think a boat should last? I know some runs are harder and more boat abusive than others but what do you find reasonable?

How many competant agressive paddlers do you know that are women, and how many competant agressive paddlers do you know that are men. There are women out there that are good and can paddle circles around men, but there are not many. The ratio of male to female WW canoeists is hugely tilted towards t...

Lew is there a reason to always have the dude in the back? It seems as this is the norm. Is it a height issue, skill, weight, I don't get it. The responsibilities of the bow paddler seems like it would favor the more confident, skilled and agressive paddler. Not to slam the women of the sport, but t...
